I re-posted this question on the psychotherapy board after I discovered it and had already posted here.
Sorry for the confusion and waste of space. |

First I am very sorry if this has happened to you. This one of the worst things that can happy in therapy. So...I would try to go to my reg doc first. They can usually help you find a new therapist. Now I know this is probably very hard to do since it was a doc you was trusting before. I guess I would also go to trusted adults/friends. So many people have been to therapy and are happy to recommend them if they has a very good experince.
How do you get the courage up to ever go see a therapist again....I don't know. Maybe time, taking someone with you for awhile until you feel at ease again with a new T. I wish I had more to offer, but please do take care of yourself. |

trying to be me;
Thank you so much for your reply. Your concern means a lot. Please look at the additional info I made in a reply on the psychotherapy board, that's where I'm answering this. If I ever were to return to any form of individual therapy, I would definitely take my wife and I refuse to ever be in the presence of one of these people alone ever again. Good advice, but at this point I will only attend a therapy group, which sadly does not exist for men. Your concern is more than plenty to offer. May God bless; Tom S. |

This is a very rare occurrence. I'm sorry that it happened! Goodness!
Please reach out to a licensed professional. They can help you work through this trauma. ![]()

I hate to sound brash Sky, but just how rare is this ?
Who tracks such incidences ? The industry or their disciplinary board of peers in practice with them ?? Go to the 'Psychotherapy' board on this site and read the pages of boundary crossing that's publicly confessed on this internet site. If you're an individual who has ever been subdued and molested, it'll make your skin crawl. A good read is the post between me and Junerain this morning at the 'Other Mental Health Discussions' board, found under Children of clinical behavioral studies. Take the link to Ken Pope's study.
