Print this out and give it to the person you will be seeing for a professional consultation. Somebody needs to look at it and the sooner the better. It would also be of practical value to have a professional look at it, since you have very severe lapses in your reasoning (train of thought), very severe... I imagine that sooner or later you will run into problems because of those lapses, to the point of, say, being unable to go to graduate school. You are too young to think about it, but try - graduate school examinations all contain analytical components and, I am afraid, you won't pass them with this kind of thinking. It is hard to say what exactly the problem is, not being a trained professional, but many of us here see that the problem is rather extreme.
Thanks for this!

my reasoning like the one where i think someone is staring at me is really...this is what i think. I think that because of my need to cover up, even though there's no need because no one knows, is really why i've been thinking that others have been "wary" of me. I mean, of course they didnt know. Unless you tell someone, they can't prove that you've been watching it.

I suggest the psychiatrist, less because of what you think about the "normalcy" of mast. and more because you're using confusing, circular arguments and jumping between positions.

That sounds a lot like formal thought disorder (E.G. borderline, bipolar mania (p), schizophrenia, or maybe autism-- although I doubt it is autism, here)

I'll repeat... you need to speak to someone other than a few people on an internet forum, no matter how interesting and helpful we seem to be.

Good luck. As I said, go get that psychiatric consult.
Thanks for this!

I definitely agree. There is something seriously going on with you at a cognitive level because you seem like an intelligent guy for the most part, but your concept of cause and effect is seriously warped and they sometimes almost sound like paranoid delusions. Seeing a professional will be good for you because s/he can identify the real problem and help you fix it.
Thanks for this!

How was that a response to my post? My post was about what seems to be unusually concrete thinking on your part. I did not say that you needed to be "pure".

read this about circumstantial thinking

Mental status examination - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

and this about the thought content

Mental status examination - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (read especially about preoccupations)

At any rate, no reading substitutes for a professional evaluation.
Thanks for this!

there is some sort of grandiosity in your thinking, too... again, it is really hard to pinpoint it not being a professional, but, basically... DUDE, people in general have a lot of things to do!!! And, in general, they are not preoccupied with the question of your use of porn, because, I am sorry, but you do not MATTER to them so much! Why would they waste their time thinking about proving that you have watched porn? What would be the benefit to them? They have their relationships, jobs, bills, etc. and they do not CARE so much about your use of porn. Your existence is not that bloody important to them, OK? You are not the center of the universe.

that's exactly what my therapist told me. he was like,"dude, who wants to know if someone else had been viewing porn? That's just silly."

whoa, take it easy. I am not at all being self-centered. I'm merely trying to express how I feel. I don't feel any more important than anyone else on this planet.

I go off topic a lot. whatever happens to be on my mind at that moment is how I respond.

OK, so then everybody else on this planet spends just as much time as you do pondering whether others can prove something about their private lives?.. Not possible - the world would have long come to a halt.

The part about self-centered was not by way of making a judgment of you but rather by way of observing what makes your thinking unusual.

I am not talking about others worrying about my wanting to watch porn. I mean, they don't know. It's just that I am very inquisitive so when there are questions mixed with input that I would like to offer, I just say them out loud. I don't believe in keeping one's thoughts in their mind if it bothers them. so the best thing i do is express myself and just hope that by doing so, I can be guided.

Yes I admit that at some point I felt like I was seriously important, but not anymore. that happened when I was bullied a lot and i thought that by exercising importance and being apathetic would help but no, i was wrong.

But that's not how a conversation or a thread works. When we ask you a question we expect you to respond to the topic and not shift to whatever you are feeling at the moment. It is hard to understand you when you cannot answer our questions or respond appropriately. Like another member has said, you need to talk to a professional about your lapses in reasoning.

Also, it is best to stick to the original topic, which is masturbation.

There is no point discussing it here. When you have somebody lined up, we can help you put together a collection of your statements that - to many people on the thread - demonstrate issues with your reasoning. Somebody calls them lapses, another person calls them circular, etc. - how they are called are not very important. The important part is seeing a professional.

it's alright. I want to move on already. My reasoning does kind of lapse because I cannot organize my thoughts on this site. Should I write them out before I express them? LOL.

Maybe that, and diagramming would help, too. How one idea leads to the next, premise+premise tie together, conclusion gets formed, etc. Might help, indeed.

I'll bet. and even when i'm writing papers for someone, i feel like jumping from one topic to another. and if I don't know much about a topic, then i wont research it. instead i will try to BS my way out of it. Well, that has not been proven to achieve desired results.

Back on the topic of masturbation. When do women call it quits? I mean you can have multiple orgasms so do you go until your hand gets tired? (or the batteries die?)
