Billi here.

I finally have something positive to share here.

One of the things that's kept me awake is overstimulation at night. For a time, I used the tv to h elp me sleep---human voices are comforting to me. But lately, all it's done is make me more agitated---issues being talked about on programs keeps me awak now.

Then I tried the radio, but most stations here are rock and roll and I find now that's better for me during the day or in the morning.

So now I am listening to classical music.

never been into that, but at least it doesnt' trigger me or turn me on s*x*ally or obnoxious like some rock songs are.

Last night, it just felt so good to finally let my thoughts drift away on some string music, flutes, organ...

And sleep...

Billi

Hi Billie- I do the same, and find classical music very soothing, I even listen to it during the day when I start to get agitated. I also find putting myself (my mind) into a theme (with the music in the background) of being in King Louis's court or riding in a carriage down a dirt lane or soaring over the tree tops and an ocean. My favorite is "101 Strings" but I haven't been able to find them on CD yet. I have also put a small fish tank with gold fish and a soft light next to my bed and watched the fish swim while listening to the classical music. Good Luck and let me know if you find anything else just as relaxing.

Hi, I do the same thing! I find it very relaxing. I listen to a French station in Canada - it is just wonderful!

I have so much classical music on my ipod... I also hafe some smooth jazz thats nice to listen to at night. And since I sing I have a lot of karaoke soundtrack tings and sometimes I will listen to those. It's so nifty how different types of music can trigger different things in the human body.

Wow, I now have company in my love for classical music. I have been a classical music lover since I was a music major in Junior college back in the 70's. Everyone thought I was crazy......good to hear that there are lovers of the classical music now & glad to hear the relaxing effect it has. When I was a music major, I had to analyze that music, so I was less able to listen to it & relax.....now that the mental analysis is so far in the past, I am able to listen & relax & really enjoy it for just the thrill or listening.

Glad you have found the key to a good night's sleep

ty again.

I can't name all the pieces and composers, but I sure appreciate it.

This morning I really dug a harpsichord piece---very bouncy and upbeat.

me too...my favorite dreams are the ones that I either walk on the sky or I fly....I used to have lots of them when I was a kid....but rarely recently....

I do like to try your advice for the classic music.....do you live it on when you sleep? how does it work? I'm so sensitive to the sounds....that's why I hate my current place, because it does have so much noise from hwy....It keeps me up even when I'm so tired and sleepy....like last night....

I figured out I sleep very well, if I have fish with ginger and garlic for dinner...very interesting!

thanks again for sharing

I listen to classical music as well to help sleep. I also bought some CDs with children's lullabys on them and I use those as well.

I listen to music as well as I attempt to fall asleep...sometimes I'll go through an hour long CD and have to start it over...the music I listen to is my own compilation of New Age music...I love it...but I do have severe insomnia, so it doesn't put me to sleep right off, but it does help me keep my mind off of things that are bothering me...I'm actually about to try to go to sleep seeing I have to be up and in the gym at 11:30 am for my training session. I hope this time I'm awake enough to actually feel like working out...music is always a great remedy for almost anything...that I truly believe.
