I just want to know if anyone here have trouble with sleeping, like you are always sleeping, it's never enough and if sometimes it's gets difficult to stay up and awake, as if you only have slept a few hours only and your body is dragged throw the day. If you have felt this way, or feel this way what did you do to make this pass, to have energy to face the day and to don't fall asleep.
I know I'm not the only one having trouble with this so i was hoping you could give me some advice. Thank you

I often get stuck in these ruts when I'm not working where I'll sleep easily 12 to 15 hours a day. One would think after sleeping this much that I'd be ready to go for the next week but usually I just end up as you describe... Exhausted, energy-less and taking cat naps throughout the day... Thhheeeen on the other hand when I'm working I'm sleeping 3 to 4 hours a night and alas the same issue arises.
I've found the best way to deal with this is to find a balance. Unfortunately, its not fun... Its not easy and for everyone it differs. It certainly doesn't happen immediately though so its easy to become discouraged. Basically, I have to put myself on a solid schedule. Falling asleep at oh... Midnight.. And waking up for work at 6 or 7. That became very comfortable to me after awhile. Granted, it did suck since then I miss out on a lot of night time goodness, but.. At least I feel rested. My gf on the other hand would never thrive on only 6 hours of sleep. For her day to go properly she easily needs 8 or 9... So if you find a set time isn't working for you after awhile, decrease or increase the sleeping time until it balances out. You also have to be very consistent... Going to bed at the same time and getting up at the same time... Even if you don't have somewhere to be early in the morning. You'll find after a few weeks of sticking to it you'll usually feel far more rested. However, this is all assuming that this is a basic sleeping issue and nothing major. But hell, it can even help for some sleeping disorders. It sounds like common sense, but its a lot harder to implement into our lifestyles than one would think. |

Thanks for taking time to answer me okami and i will try to do it as you say, but I think I will give it a try once again, and try different times schedule to see if I can found a time balance for my sleep to get better. But then again,
I think that some days, even after all this what happened to me was that I was feeling more depressed and then I always feel more sleepy that day and just have to sleep for a while, it feels like I have to sleep because it’s the only way the time pass and that I can forget all the things, because when I’m asleep I don’t think of the problems and don’t feel bad, the day ends more quickly. But thanks I will really try it to find the balance.

I agree that not working can cause you to sleep excessively. I don't work right now and I tend to sleep 10-12 hrs per day, probably because I have no reason to get up. Although when I was working I remember having trouble getting to sleep and not feeling like I was rested in the morning. The problem can also be lack of exercise and nutrition. I smoke a lot and don't exercise or eat breakfast. All that can make a difference. WHen I was exercising regularly I could pop out of bed in the morning no problem.

Gosh what I wouldn't do to get 7-8 hrs of sleep......Im lucky to get 4-5 hrs of sleep without waking up 2-3 times. Most of the time now I just want to sleep to forget about my problems.

yeah same here I've been depressed lately and sleep too much 12-17 h a day (most of it during the day) and I never want to get up I just want to sleep forever b/c it doesnt feel like I've had as much sleep as I want/need
Things that have helped me stay more awake/fresh - being excited about something - anything - will keep me up for days and days... doesnt even have to be anything special but sometimes I get excited about mundane prospects - lots of exercise and water - another thing you could try (I have not tried it yet) is 'practicing' waking up.. I have heard that to wake up regularly and cure insomnia/hypersomnia, you need practice just like in other things? |
