hi, i have never posted in here or may be i have long ago. i got some sleep issues. i am 28 yrs old and not a morning person i used to get up early in the morning to watch tv (miss doing that). i am a deep sleeper, been that way since i was a kid. i am a night owl so i stay up late again since i was a kid and have more energy when i wake up late. i don't take sleeping drugs would never take those, my body, done my research, so there shouldn't be an argument about me not wanting to take them.
i have used lavender oil which is great stuff for sleep but the problem with that is i would end up sleeping late. i would sleep for like 10-12 hrs especially on the weekend. i wanted to get up today at 9am, alarm went off, dismissed it, and woke up again at 10 then went back to sleep. woke up at 1130am then i got up. i can't seem to get up and get stuff done takes me about 5-15 minutes to fully wake up! i would go to bed thinking about things especially my inner voice arguing about the past, always hearing conversations in my head as i am sleeping. my diet could be better but if i had more hours at my job i can have more money to eat a better diet. i have told a doctor about my sleep issues long ago didn't really give me anything, but i lost my state insurance and need to reapply again. i could go to bed early and still wake up tired and groggy. i am on a schedule in the morning as i do things before i go to work in the afternoon. any suggestions? |

I would decide on a sleep schedule and start working on it. It sounds like you may not be getting enough sleep during the week and then trying to make it up on weekends. Do you know how many hours sleep you need? Some people need 7 (my husband) and some need more (I tested myself on a week I was off and I needed close to 9).
A big deal is not dismissing alarm clocks if you want to get up. If you went to bed Midnight or before, then 9 a.m. is not unreasonable to get up. But do make sure you get at least 7-9 hours sleep. It makes sense though, if you don't get up until 11, say, that you are not going to "be able" to go to sleep until you have been up around 16 hours (16 + 8 hours sleep = 24 hours) and up at 11 + 16 makes it 3 a.m. before you are going to be sleepy again? That's not good. Get up, no matter how tired or you won't be able to sleep earlier that night. It will take a week or more to get your timing moving in the right direction. If you get up early, you are probably going to be sleepier early so your head is not going to be able to bother you as much as usual? Do go to the doctor and have your thyroid and other blood/urine tests done to make sure you are not anemic or have hypothyroid (I have that), etc. Check your eating and make sure you are getting enough protein, fiber, fruits and vegetables, etc. as all of that works together too. Not having the right or enough fuel can make you sluggish/run out of gas ![]()

My sleeping schedule really depends on the day, I wanted to sleep until at least 11 today but someone woke me up around 9:30.

my social worker did talked to me about a sleep schedule which i don't like. i have been going to bed at midnight. i need 9 hours of sleep as like i said 8 hrs doesn't cut it for me. i don't start my job until 2p (that will change later on for a short period) and i do visit the bookstore regularly visiting my ex coworkers.
the alarm went off today at 9am i just kept hitting it until i got up at 930am. yea, i am still trying to force my body to get up. i have been eating fruit and eating some meat for protein. i was tested for a thyroid issue, the test said i had a thyroid issue then it went back to normal. i haven't been back at the doctor in a couple of years since i had those tests done. anemic? yep, i already knew i am anemic because i have a heavy period (heavy for 2 days one time it was heavy for 3 days) which has been decreasing in a couple months and other months it's like a river! i try to eat foods that have iron in them so i can replenish the lost rbc. i am the type of person who loves to stay up late watching late night shows, but can't do that now since i am working mon-friday. |
