Over the past months I have been having bad dreams a fair amount of them even nightmares. When I asked other people whether they get nightmares often they didn't, some didn't even have a dream some nights. I hate waking up in the early hours of the morning because of these bad dreams. Maybe it's stress from being lonely? or that I haven't been eating much healthy food?

What can I do to stop this?

Hi there lauratardis, well you have some good ideas there already. Eating healthy can help some. But stress will show up in sleep too. Being lonely doesn't help. these are things I do myself to help. A body pillow, lavender, chamomile tea, a good read, something that calms me is soft music. I was under some extra stress lately and was waking up with them. I had to get up for a minute, maybe more, find something to distract me like music, and then go back to sleep. Welcome to this site, I hope you find your way around here, it has really been a great support. I don't think we can stop anything at times, but go with it and through it. I don't have any other ideas but someone else might. Take care.

We all dream and some are bad dreams. Thus some of those people were not fully honest with you. Dreams are how our minds process the days events, and how we are feeling about ourselfs. Check to see how your daily life is causing you stress. How are others acting to you? Therapy can also cause many dreams.

Dreams~ Yep we All have them! Some we remember in vivid detail and others feel like a wisp/whisper or an echo. Some "feel" more comfortable than others.
For ME?? Each and every dream holds Some Lesson for ME ( well sometimes for another but that's a whole different kettle of fish ) I try to Observe my dreams and have found a dream journal can be an excellent tool for just this. Maybe keep paper/pen near your bed and when these dreams wake you write down what you remember when the dream is still "fresh" and then you can re-visit the dream any time.
As far as recurring dreams~ I have found that I need to sort of become a detective of sorts and figure out the "Mystery" or Source. Sometimes this is easily accomplished for me others I am still working out!
Hope this helps!
Brightest Blesings
PEACE
