I often have trouble sleeping through the night, i usually wake up at around 3 in the morning and have trouble falling back asleep for almost an hour. When I do sleep through the night I end up waking up early in the morning and can't fall back asleep even though i'm tired. Anyone have any tips to either help me go back to sleep when i do wake up or any tips for before i go to bed so i can sleep through the night?

Hello purpleninja: I often have sleep difficulties similar to what you describe. However, I'm an older person. So I don't know if anything I would suggest would be of benefit to you.
I presume you're following the usual recommended practices such as staying off of the computer or smart phone for a couple of hours prior to bedtime, avoiding caffeine, getting plenty of exercise, etc. When I wake up during the night, & can't get back to sleep, I get up & do walking meditation. I walk slowly around-&-around our dark & quiet home focusing light attention on each foot as it touches the floor. Thoughts come-&-go. I simply watch them arise-&-fade at their own pace. I'll typically walk for around an hour but sometimes for as much as two hours. When I go back to bed I almost always go back to sleep.
