Hey. I went to my doctor yesterday for a recheck on shoulder pain. I had lost 5 more pounds. The medical assistant said that was great. My doctor maybe didn't notice or something. He knows I work out (injured shoulder by lifting weights). But he still talked to me about exercise and losing weight. Well, hello - I AM losing weight - 14 pounds so far. I know I have a lot more to go, but I'm happy I'm still losing weight.

I don't know. At least the medical assistant gave me some kudos for it.

I am moving around physically more now that I have started on thyroid medication. I do not have any eating disorder. I eat normally. I try to eat regular meals - normal stuff. Maybe I don't deserve congratulations since I'm not really doing THAT much different.

But I think my thyroid was really out of whack and it's now increasing my metabolism. Before, I would go to water aerobics or exercise classes and just kept gaining weight.

It's just that my doctor gave me a lecture how I need to lose weight. And I AM losing weight.

yes, you do deserve a congradulations and especially recognition from your dr. it hurts when others mention the negative and then seem to go blind when it comes to anything positive. maybe your dr. has his own issues. i think you're doing great! from an outside perspective, going on thyroid med., transformed my mom in many ways--energy, weight, depression. i wish you the best. and i'm sorry about your dr. being so rude.

Thank you. He wasn't really rude. He was nice. He said taking walks is good. He just didn't acknowledge the "achievement" - if you can call it that.

My doctor does the same with me. Last time I went in, I had lost 20 lbs and he never said a thing except to ask me when I was going to start the water aerobic. gggrrrrr I don't think they check, to tell you the truth.

Congratulations ARE in order! It doesn't matter how you lost the weight, you LOST it! CONGRATULATIONS!!! YAY for you!! Be proud of yourself! lost weight
