I busted my butt to finish a job for an 86 yr old, lonely client but still took the time to chat with him about the state of the world.
I hugged (well sort of..) my father.
I fed the livestock so that we can go to the beach tomorrow (side benefit of going to study up on renewable energy technology- solar hot water and photovoltaic generation).
Thanks for this!

Yesterday I: Did my Yoga routine, went grocery shopping (huge thing-since I completely hate to go), and the dishes (another huge thing-I hate to do.) All before having a girls' movie night.

I went to Parents University and learned some new techniques to deal with my daughter. I filled my gas tank. I did a load of laundry.

Did the dishes, helped girls reorganize dressers (now that they each have 1), took girls on a play date, got movies for the kids, filled car with gas, got pop (non-caffeinated) for kids, had company over, made supper for everyone, watched a movie w/kids, helped my daughter with a get well card for our neighbor, will be doing bed time routine when reading time is up.

Good going guys!!

Today I listened to a large part of a CD by Pema Chodron that I bought yesterday. I love it. I find her voice very calming and her words inspire me and give me hope.

I hope washing the pots counts. I went to work for two hours.

I'm having trouble doing much of anything lately.

I joined a good forum!

I am pleased to report that I AM practicing my breathing exercises to help with anxiety. I also went out with a friend for lunch and then went out with my 18-year-old son for awhile. I did my newspaper column for the week, so I won't have to worry about getting it done tomorrow. And I found a good book to read at Goodwill. I also did some clothes washing. All in all, not too bad!

I went to an alanon meeting, and at a cafe afterward, a one-time friend acted badly toward me. It surprised me; I had been only respectful toward him. He has aspergers syndrome, and though my feelings were hurt, I also felt forgiveness. I also listened a 2nd time to a Buddhist meditation lecture, trying to plant the concepts in mind for ceasing suffering and opening to the present moment.

I recognized and acknowledged when I was losing control of my emotions and temper and asked for space. Focused on loving behavior towards my husband even when I wanted to lash out.

Friday I put an offer on a house. Yesterday I got a reply. Today I came back with a new offer. I'm trying not to get too excited. Last night I babysat 3 kiddos overnight so their parents could go to a going away party (the family is moving). So, I fed, bathed, changed into jammies and put to bed a 5 yr old, a 2 yr old, and a 6 month old. I got up happily during the night to change and feed the 6 month old. I answered a call about another babysitting job and am going to meet the mom and child in a couple of hours. I vacuumed and mopped all the hard surfaces in the house and am on load 6 or 7 of laundry (most of it's even put away - yay me!) now I'm going to take a break.

This was a very bad day emotionally, but this evening I went to the meditation sangha, although I was extremely distracted during the sit and lecture/discussion afterward. Even got up from the cushion during the sit, to pace the halls, a first ever.

I went to handbell practice, choir practice and church, then went to the grocery store for a few things. Going to try to go to bed early.

I'll do yesterday now and try to remember to today later on today.

Got girls off to Sunday school, did laundry, helped with lunch, supervised dishes being washed, taught girls how to put a string in sweat pants, watched a movie, helped girls get ideas/supplies/etc for their mom's birthday, made supper, rode along with to take girls home, came on PC, spent time with BF b/c he's going to be gone all this week, oh yes can't forget playing with and taking care of Turbo.
Thanks for this!

Took care of the kiddo. Went and picked up my medicine from Walgreens. Went to Target and got a few things. Put away the dishes and did some more. Washed and put away laundry. Oh yeah...and made a counter offer on the house and...

They Accepted!!!

My agent's coming over later for me to sign the contract.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((Kitty))))))))))))))))))))))

Well done everyone!!!!!!

Today I was focused on my work and I cranked through some things I've been putting off. On my lunchtime dog walk I found a beautiful place to sit calmly for a few moments and breathe deeply while enjoying the view. On the drive back to work I listened to more of a beautiful CD I bought about understanding the true nature of fear and fearlessness.

This thread is a locomotive of goodness--glad to be on board the train.

CONGRATULATIONS, KITTY!!

What thrilling news about your new house! I wish you many years of happiness, peace, comfort, and excitement in your new home.

missbelle, I agree that older folks have some wonderful stories to share, and I am always happy to hear them. How sweet that you spent time with your neighbor.

PleaseHelp, I am always floored with how much you accomplish! Now would you mind telling me how to get that darned tie back in the sweats?!?

Here's my contribution: for the first time in months, I got some work done. It's a minuscule amount, and I don't know how it happened, but it did. It exists. I must have been there for some of it. I'm not sure how I feel about it--it's decent quality stuff, but doing anything that's associated with life comes off wrong right now, if that makes any sense. It doesn't come across as a big deal here, and I guess in many ways it isn't. It's just a step forward. But it feels...weird.

Friendship and love to everyone here. I am inspired by you all.
Thanks for this!
