okay, I really liked reading what everyone said. Its past 4 in the morning. way past 4 actually. People did such great things.
Today I went to the health food store to fill up my water jugs
I paid a bill
tried to help someone
got all my errends done before the snow comes.
I wish I could say I did something constructive around the house. Oh well. Maybe tomorrow. aka today
Thanks for this!

OMG, thanks for reminding me I have to pay a couple of bills by phone today. Water and electric have had overdue stamped on them and shut offs..... but my Social Secruity should be in my account today. Happy Happy Happy.

I just came in from walking Jack 1 mile out in the cold and it was rather refreshing.

My do right: I made a pattern from old pj bottoms for making 3 pairs for my daughter, and two grandchildren and have cut out one pair. 2 more to cut out! I'll sew the first pair before cutting the others just to be sure that it looks 'normal'.

We are doing Christmas with them this weekend. That will be a blast!

I heated up some homemade cream of tomato soup in the micro wave just before coming down here to check in, so I best go eat it now.
Thanks for this!

So far I'm eating well today. Sometimes I just snack along, which isn't good. I fixed soup and cheese toast for my lunch.

I went and saw my pdoc - talked about my med change. She suggested another group to go to, I'm not sure about that yet. Went to work. Tried to get my boss organized (not an easy task). Ate a snack. Will be going out with a friend I haven't seen in almost 6 months tonight. Trying to get a hold of the bank that has my student loans, to get things figured out.

Yay! to everybody's accomplishments! I cut up some limbs and brush from my maple trees for kindling and cleaned around the wood stove. Steamed and ate spinach, ugh, saved by the butter. Steamed and pureed broccoli, ugh, which will tomorrow be made palatable with cheddar and sauteed onion. (hate veggies). I successfully challenged all the tenacious thoughts that I'm unlovable, remote, cold, will always be isolated and alone, etc. etc.

I went to DBT group with my homework completed. I also took some paper work to my new boss. HR is supposed to call me tomorrow with a meeting time to fill out more paper work. I start Monday, but not sure what time.

At some point in the last twenty-four hours, I shoveled a literal ton of snow, at least it felt somewhere in that range. My "lifting" arm is very angry with me at present.

I also did a bit of shoveling for some elderly neighbors who were very thankful. It felt good to help.

I befriended some new and not-so-new neighbors. I really liked that part of the day, though the exercise from the shoveling was rewarding too.

The work itself was mindless, moving all that snow around...and I think I needed the diversion.

I remain grateful for everyone's contributions here; a pleasant day to you all.

I had an acupuncture treatment. I was assertive but civil with a neighbor who plowed his driveway, shoving the snow across the street and onto my property, blocking my view of oncoming traffic from my driveway. I told him last winter not to do it again. I'm coming up empty today.

Those sound like big do-rights to me!!!!!! ((((((((lavie))))))

Well done everyone!!!

We've been having big server problems at work this week and I've been really frustrated (I am very impatient, especially where computers are concerned!!!) I have been quite irritable at work (to put it mildly!! ) and my sucky attitude has been making me feel bad about myself. Today I made a big effort to keep my trap shut instead of complaining!! I'm still frustrated by the ongoing computer issues, but I definitely feel better for not *****ing about it all day!!

Got up and worked out, even though I have a killer head cold. Went to work. Took a nap. Made supper and did the dishes. Hoping to go to bed early and hope this head cold goes away.

Great Stuff everyone. Sundog, I hope that your computer server gets their act together.

Love reading about the things everyone wrote. From meeting new neighbors, to shoveling for people. To Accupuncture and so much more. Thank you everyone for sharing parts of your life with me.

(((((Pleasehelp))))), I hope you feel better soon.

My do rights are from yesterday but I feel good about them anyway.

Made 3 pairs of pj pants for my 2 granddaughters and my daughter, they all wear the same size ! And today I need to go buy fabric for my grandson's pjs. He is also the same size! and for me, I'm not the same size

We are having Christmas together soon. I plan to spend the best part of the day wearing my PJs!

I rally do enjoy everyones do rights. It really makes my day to see everyone doing their thing. It makes me feel connected that we have a wonderful place to share and feel good about ourselves.

Let's see...the best I can do right now is I helped with the prep for some light cooking here, which again had that mindless aspect to it that almost became meditative, I guess. Then I spent some time with my mother, who, along with the rest of us, is not doing well these days.

I agree with Beholden and many others here, if not everybody--this place is truly a haven in recent times. I am sure it has served in that capacity before I landed here too. Someday, I will read the whole thread in its entirety.

I also agree with sunsetsunrise about the wide range of admirable qualities, activities, actions, and interactions reported here--patience, tolerance, civility, taking care of oneself and one's family, creativity, celebration, and so much more. Add to all that community, when we gather to greet each other and share these instances, even if our visits here are staggered by those lives we keep talking about.

I woke up and tried to get in a good mood, and it mostly worked. I read a friend's writing. And I will eventually eat.

What Sunset, Beholden, and Nola said. Yeah! Congrats to you Grumpypa. I splurged on the most expensive haircut in my life ($40 plus tip). Have to say it looks great, after lots of the crummy $12 haircuts. I rarely spend on non-essentials. Had a consult with a dog behaviorist and bought from her a collar and supplements to calm Sherman's fearfulness (we're so alike). An expensive day.

I got up and went to work (in the past I would have just called in to work and said "I don't feel well", but I made myself go and am glad I did). I picked up my meds and got some cold medicine. I took a nap and will try to go to bed at a decent time.
Thanks for this!

Well done everyone!!! I love reading everyone's posts here too! It is a great way to stay connected and it's really uplifting!!!!! Thanks so much to everyone for contributing!!!!

Congratulations on your new grandson, Grumpypa!!!!!!

Hope your head cold gets betters soon ((((((PleaseHelp)))))

Ooo la la to the new haircut!! (((((((lavie)))))) I'm so glad you like it!!! A new haircut is such a pick-me-up!!!!! Good luck with Sherman's pheremone collar too!!

Big hugs to everyone!!!

I made a really nice supper from scratch last night. I think I've said before that I'm not much of a cook and I don't really enjoy cooking. But last night I made a big effort. I made a kind of veggie pesto spaghetti and I made my own pesto with fresh basil and pine nuts and garlic etc (just threw it all in the Cuisinart thingie!!) and I cooked some mushrooms and golden beets and it turned out really well!! I could tell my husband really enjoyed it. He is always kind and says he likes my cooking (even though I know very well that it's often not good at all!!!!) but last night he ate 3 helpings!!!!

I got out of bed, took a shower, took more cold medicine, did the dishes, took a nap, took the girls to the mall (I do NOT like malls, but my girls do), came home made supper, watched a movie with family, and will go to bed early.

I haven't been capable of all that much lately, so I haven't had much to offer here. I've barely been able to get out of bed. However, I still am buoyed by what I read here.

sundog, your supper exploits sound amazing. Please pass the mushrooms and golden beets...well, please pass all of it. Glad your husband came back for extra helpings!

All I can report is I had my first cup of coffee in over a month today. How I missed that magical beverage, with its sweet, savory, creamy presentation. It didn't make me as crazed as I thought it might, but it sure tasted like the life I once knew.

A happy, calm day to you all.

I've gone through times when my T would tell me "just try to do one thing a day," so I know how it is to be barely functional. I am in a bit of such a state right now, but I did clean up after the cat (you don't want to know!) and called my pharmacy to let them know about a problem in getting a precription filled. Sometimes I'm just not up to even doing something like that! I do think we should take pride in everything we can get done!

I also so appreciate the kindness and compassion I feel from everyone here and at PC in general. It's quite extraordinary. In one of my panicky moments last night, I wrote a crazed desperate private message to a few folks. Received a lovely response. My "doing right" is forgiving myself today for the long-winded spewing of feeling helpless. That's about all I've got so far. Sundog, any leftovers? I'll be over at 6.

((please help)) congratulations for braving the mall
((Nola)) I'm glad you're trying to take care of yourself :-)
((payne)) cleaning up after the cat - ick and yay
((lavieenrose)) yay for asking for help..or just ranting :-) and forgiving yourself

Pretty much my accomplishment for the day was getting out of bed. I'll probably mop the kitchen later. I've spent the last several days slowly cleaning the huge mess our house was because I'm trying to (and have succeeded in one case) get a new babysitting job. The parents of the second child are coming Tuesday to meet me and look at my house. I figure the floors need to be clean because their child is not walking yet.
