As someone with low self-esteem, I tend to focus excessively on all my failings and all the things I do wrong. My brain just automatically goes to a place of negative self-talk.

I have found it helpful in the past to have a thread where people can list some of the things that they do right each day. So I thought I would start one here and I hope that some folks might feel like joining in! The idea is just to write down any daily accomplishments, big or small, that you feel like sharing!

What I did right today was to make an effort to go somewhere with my Mom that she wanted to go, even though I wasn't feeling good. And making that effort actually made me feel better!

This is a good thread, Sundog!

I offered support for friends even though I was feeling pretty blah myself ... it apparently made a difference, and left me feeling a lot better about my day.

I met someone on the bus last night that I had not seen for a while but he always used to stop and have a chat with me whenever we met each other. When I asked him how his job was going it was such a shock when he told me he had had a nervous breakdown and could no longer work. He says he does not know what triggered it but he woke up and couldn't leave the house and was crying all the time. His dr sectioned him and he is now on medication. All I could do was hug him. He told me everything on the bus with the other passengers hearing what he was saying. It brought tears to my eyes. He says the medication was helping. When we got off the bus I stayed and listen to him talk and then hugged him. I don't usually hug people close to me much less strangers but I did I am glad I met him but could not help feeling sad that such a vibrant person could end up so depressed. I just listened and let him talk didnt let him know how awful I have been feeling lately.

Very kind of you Lilleth.

What I did right today was to get my laundry done.

The song "My God is an Awesome God" keeps running in my head and I'm wanting to move toward a more Spiritually life. The song has encouraged me to Just Do It.

It's great to read these!!

I emailed my therapist today about something that was bothering me and it felt good to get it off my chest. She replied and we're going to discuss it next week.

today i let myself begin to grieve. i have had so many losses and traumas since March, that it cost me my job, the first one in 17 yrs. it's a major set-back, and i don't like to grieve, i like to fight, get mad, file complaints, anything but feel the sorrow of loss. so here i sit, open hearted.

This is a great thread ((Sundog)). I took care of my girls, played with my 8 yr old, played with my dog and made a delicious home made pizza.

Well done everyone!!!!!!!!

When I started feeling anxious this morning, instead of focusing on the unpleasant feelings and working myself up into a worse state, I forced myself to get busy with some tasks around the house and it helped a bit!

Today I took a lady to Bible study, and sent an email to the teacher saying I enjoyed it.

That's great you got your doohicky sorted out and are back online, beadlady!!!!

Today I managed to be quite disciplined at work and I cranked through quite a bit of admin stuff that needed to be dealt with!

Took Caleb to the vet's for his semiannual exam. He's fine and the Vet just drooled over the dog who was so well behaved.

That's great! My dogs HATE going to the vet!!!! I have to semi-carry one of them in there because she digs her heels in and refuses to set foot over the threshhold (and she's a big dog!) The other two go in but then become trembling wrecks! Unfortunately the vet usually sees the worst side of them!! Anyhow, glad it went well for you and Caleb!

The thing I did right today is the same as yesterday. I've been very busy at work and I've been quite productive and got a fair amount done. It feels good to be productive because I'm not always very disciplined (to put it mildly!!!!)

Took a midnight stroll to a nearby lake. (or pond?) Great view. If I were able to draw it might be fun to spend some more time there, I think.
