In the past year, my son and his wife have only asked us over to their house to clean up wood that fell from the winter storm last year, and to pick up kids or babysit, or help clean up when the whole family was sick with the stomach flu. They also will not allow daughter to see their kids unless it is at our house. Her hubby was good enought to help move them from Virginia to Ohio, though. Enough is enough!! I am limiting my time with all of them until they can grow up a little.

This sounds like a great boundary to set.

Take care,
Fuzzy

I am sorry they are being so selfish. I hope that your idea works well. It is too bad it will also cut off contact with your grandchildren. Take care of yourself.

Please reconsider this. While I didn't have this "decision" to make... I would be willing to do anything to see and be around my grandkids... At least if you are around, they will have a chance to get to know you... and appreciate you. Once you isolate from them, it may become permanent. Of course, tempor this wil taking best care of yourself... it can be tough...

We will see them Christmas day. We'll go to their house and make sure the little guys get their gifts, and Mom and Dad, too. But some things are going to have to change so hubby and I can have some peace also.
