My situation is similar to Kc carlyle's situation in Ice Princess (if you've watched it). I quitted a Hardvard-equivalent school where I can't take the course I like and settled for a minor one where I can take it.
Now, people who know this seem to be more sorry for me than myself because I did that. I am hesistant whether I did the right thing or not. I'm just glad that my parents still support me emotionally and financially.

Do these people know how you feel inside? Who exactly are these people?
I mean as long as you can make a decent living, and be happy at the same time, go for the second option. I was in a similar situation once. I was expected to do one thing, but felt more comfortable with the other option. After a horrendous time dithering I went for the option I wanted. So many years later, I wonder now why i ever hesitated & sure as hell did not regret it. I'd say follow your heart. Doing what makes you happy is much more important than 'prestige' or other people's (outsiders) expectations or whatnot. May I also commend your parents for not putting any pressure on you. |

I don't know your full situation, perhaps the translation to English has made it difficult for me to understand.
We all make choices and decisions in our lives. What we learn from the results of them is what is important. Are you "spoiled" or are you making an intelligent decision? I can't know that. I do know that, especially where education is involved, we must take many courses that don't appear to be applicable to our goals. Sometimes they are, after all. ![]()

PC is a good place to get used to having many different ppl respond to you, in many different ways and with 2 opinions from each person sometimes

Piggysmile,
It is a personal decision whether you attend college at all, or where you go to college. You don't have to please anyone but yourself. Your post caught my attention b/c I always wanted to go to an Ivy League college, b/c my brother was a Cornell and Harvard graduate. It's a long story, but I wound up at a highly respected undergraduate and graduate business college in NY. I got both a BBA and MBA, and made really good money during a 17-year career at a Fortune 500 company. Smile, are you saying you dropped out of college all together. Because my father was very old fashioned and didn't think girls should go to college at all, I didn't get to go back to college until I was 32. Anyway I hope you'll keep us posted. Hugs, EJ |

Well if you've accepted this decision and believe you did the right thing for yourself, then you did the right thing. Your parents obvisiouly accept your decision as well if they are respecting you. You will still do well with college and finding a career after you degree.
