Good job, Blue Bird. Watching a funny movie is a great distraction and I really like your mindset of taking things in life step by step!!

Anyone still post in here?
I'm going to do yoga tonight, I think that will be good for me. It feels good mentally and physically so not sure why I haven't done it lately I let myself get a couple extra hours of sleep this morning since I had the time. I'm also not being hard on myself for not doing everything "perfectly" it's okay to not get every single thing I plan to do each day done, my lists tend to be a little excessive and over ambitious anyway. it's not the end of the world to take a break if I need it. There's no such thing as perfection __________________ R.I.P mom 8/6/55-1/15/16 “All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle.” -St. Francis of Assisi

Today well.. I studied for 7 hours lol, guess I'm really motivated ! I feel happy that I could finish all the work I planned to do today (: My parents are calling me lazy but I know they're wrong.. >< Jeez, it's frustrating, they don't see all my efforts, but I try not to care.

I'm doing okay today.
I have been hearing on and off about how focusing on other people, like helping others with their problems, can help depression and emotional struggles. I agree with this. It's true I am an introvert and need time to myself. But focusing on helping others, and just recognizing that so many of us are going through the same things in this world...really...resonates with me and helps. Have a great week everyone. |

What a wonderful thread idea and I just saw it.
Today I ate the right things for my first meal and was good to myself that way. __________________ One way to get the best out of life is to think of it as an adventure. Everyone laughs at the mantra of Stuart Smalley, but I find it very comforting.
I'm good enough. I'm smart enough. People like me. |

Today I'm getting off the computer and engaging in life. Sometimes thats hard for me, and I have to push myself to do the things that make me feel good. It's so much easier to do the things that make me feel stuck and sad.
Have a great day. |

I can be gentler on myself by not expecting that I'll get a job immediately after graduation and figure everything out, after which point I'll attain enlightenment, etc.

Hi everyone. It was suggested to me that not only may I be struggling with self esteem but to be gentle to myself. While I don’t feel capable of the latter at the moment I at least wanted to pop my head up and say “here”.

Hi leomama, I am glad you're here. I created this thread under a previous user name. Anyway, I am told that recognizing the issue, whatever it may be, is the first step to healing. So congratulations. Being gentle can be a hard thing to do, especially when you're not used to doing that. I get it. Anyway it's nice to see you here.
