the past 4 days i have just felt like im at the bottom of a pit. i usually feel okay about myself but now its like im 13 again. we moved out here to this hickass town where people ignore you if youre not exactly like them. so because i dont go tanning all the time and weight 5 lbs people make fun of me. its like im back in middle school.
i guess when we lived in cincinnati there were all kinds of people around. you had to see past a person's exterior because there were just so many people. nobody fit into a stereotype. then we come out here where everyone is the same and its the same stuff all over again. i havent felt this bad about myself in a long time. now its just like im surrounded with people making me feel fat and ugly all the time and i hate it. i wish we could just move. ive lost 10 lbs and i feel worse now than before i lost it. ugh. i hate this place. |

Well...if so, your feeling has to do more with the social case and the place rather than REALLY about yourself.
I don`t think that we should think that people who are fat or somethinglik ethat are ugly nessesarily. you know if you resist and just keep your behavior as if all that nonsense doesn`t exist they will understand they don`t have power over you and will stop. and will respect you. we all happen to feel different when we compare ouselves with others. |

I live in a small town like that. It has been 14 yrs for me being here too. I have not changed, nor will I. I am glad to be who I am. I stopped paying attention to them a long time ago. It is their lost to not care about other ppl and places. It is very cheap to live here is the only reason I live here. There is nothing wrong with the way u feel. It's normal. I wish u the best. Take Care.

smaller communities don't necessarily shun you for being different they just take a little longer to accept new arrivals in...it takes time but they eventually will accept you as one of the neighbors.

WOW can I IDENTIFY WITH THIS! I moved to HICKTOWN USA when I was 12 (a hard age anyway). I was very quiet, reserved, and didn't say much because these people were so afraid of outsiders. If you did not have one of the big last names in the county -then you weren't squat. If you didn't drink beer on friday nights and ride around in a 4x4 you were just totally out of place.
In the end......I ended up becoming very popular and gained many friends because I was different and I always took to the side of new arrivals that had to put up with the same crap as me. Give it time, you will find your niche. I chose to ignore them. It breeds curiosity! __________________ "Life is short, you get one shot, make it count." ~ Yours Truly |
