I don't know what to say, I can't really do anything, but I agree with you... It makes me very angry to hear that there are people who make others here feel unsafe!

Thanks Tanya and Simon...... and sometimes my honesty hasn't gone down well, and it has been thrown back in my face... when I KNOW I was telling the truth.... from hard, painful experience. I guess some people are not ready to be helped Angry

I am the furthest from a hypocrite that it is possible to be.. so if anyone thinks I am a hypocrite, I can only feel sorry for them Angry
Take care,
Fuzzy

When triggered though, I am not consistent in my reactions perhaps. That is Far from being a hypocrite though . SIGH.

i know what you mean, i try my hardest to help others and sometimes, when situations such as this come up i wonder if it is me that has said something wrong to upset someone. i never intend on it, so all i can do is apologise if i have. but instances like this make me doubt sometimes. but fuzzybear, you have to remember, we try to help others considerately and caringly, so if it upsets someone, its not our fault. its just that some people are triggered by certain things that we maight not be aware of, in which case all we can do is apologise for upsetting them and move on.

hope you see what i mean, im finding it hard to explain myslef today!

take it easy ok fuzzyb, and you know where i am if you need me ok. i know how you are feeling.

Hi again Fuzzy, Angry
I don't think people leave PC because of one person. (I cannot see for the life of me, why you would think you would make someone want to leave because of something you did or said. You're always there to give hugs and have something supportive to say. At least for me this has been the case and your posts I've read to others.)

For every one negative person I think there are 10 positive people here on PC.
So,I think sometimes it's an accumulation of things going on at PC that makes them leave-maybe it's too exhausting reading about so many other's people's pain and it leaves them feeling helpless or feeling like in comparison you have nothing to complain about (I get to feeling like that a lot.) or it may be that something is going on in their RL that's making them not as accessible to PC.

I haven't been here long, and have only been scared by someone once. But I don't think they ment it to scare me so it's forgiven. Everyone I met has been great.
Can't help wondering if maybe I write things wrong sometimes. I'm not totally at home in the english language and might easily be misunderstood. So if I do something inappropriate please tell me!
I'm not a hypocrite!

And I'm glad you haven't left Fuzzy

Arod13 - people feel unsafe when in on line support groups for many reasons -

sometimes its because they are experiencing triggers in their real life and because of that they don't feel comfortable exposing themselfs on message boards

it could be because they have just had a private fight with someone in real life or on line

or because they themselves are upset about a post or poster,

So in the heat of the moment of the situation for them they post they are thinking of leaving. It does not always mean they ARE leaving.

And when people do leave it is because of their own personal triggers not because of something someone here has said or done.

Everyone has their own trigger levels and Psych Central takes that into account by having moderators and administrators keeping the pubnlic message boards as safe as they can considering it is impossible to know each and every members triggers (things that upset them) and by having an "ignore" icon which members can turn on so that they do not have to read any posts that trigger them and also so they don't have contact with the member that they percieve as a trigger to them. There is also a feature here in each members personal profile area where they can shut off their private message box at any time so they do not recieve upsetting private messages. If they continue to have a problem with posts and other members they also have the option of private messaging a moderator or administrator of their choice there are many moderators and administrators here.

Everyone here is expected to use those tools to take care of their personal on line experiences.

If they choose to leave the group temporarily or permanently instead of use the tools that psych central provides then that is their choice and not the fault and responsibility of any member within the psych central on line group.
