The other day my supervisor asked me if I was a good little girl. I was completely offended. I am not a little girl anymore....haven't been one for a while. I talked to some people and they thought it sounded a little perverted to call a woman that...only because of my past. I'm afraid he's gonna try to do something, but I have no proof of that. It just brought back a lot of memories and now I don't even want to be around my supervisor at all. I'm contemplating on quitting my job because of this. It's not the first comment, either. Last week he insinuated that I was a slut because I was going out for coffee with a male friend. He didn't have to say it...I knew what he meant.
I really need some advice on this subject. I don't know what to do.

I am so sorry you are having problems with your boss. I totally understand about the good little girl comment, that would have freaked me out too. The only thing I know to do is to report the behavior, he has done enough already. You don't have to wait till his does something worse. I don't know how you feel about reporting him, but it is the only thing I can think of. Maybe someone else will be more helpful. Nicole

Lexi,
I know this will be really hard to do, but in terms of sexual harassment you are required to let the person know they are offending you before you can report it. So write down what he says and when, tell him it's inappropriate and write down when you told him so, and then write down everything that happens after that. If he continues, then you can report him. I was in a similar situation with a boss when I was 16, and not to freak you out, but it did escalate. It started with making sexual jokes in my presence (not directed at me), then moving on to commenting on my clothes and my body (remember when people used to wear overalls and leave one strap undone? He always told me I had a boob hanging out), then he *joked* that he would drug and rape me to make me pregnant so I didn't quit and go to college, next he was telling everyone that I had performed a sexual act on him and gave me a nickname to accompany the story (which all my coworkers began to call me), next he touched my butt and next he put his hand in my pants. It took all that before I finally got away. Maybe if I had put my foot down earlier on, I would have been safer. I can't say that this same thing will happen with your boss, but I can say from experience now that it's always best to put your foot down and make it known that you're not comfortable. If worse comes to worse, you should quit the job and sue the jerk. Best of luck to you, Angela

I'm going to my supervisor's boss tomorrow and tell him what's going on. I can't stand this anymore. I don't deserve to be treated this way.
