I just found this site today. I've been looking for a place online to talk with others who have problems sexually with their partners. My relationship with my boyfriend is wonderful - except for the sex part. I never want it. It's been going on for over 6 months and it's hurting the rest of our relationship. He thinks it's him, that I don't want him. But if we're able to get it going, it's great. I know part of it comes from past abuse, but not all of it. I'm unhappy with my body too, but it wasn't a problem in the beginning. Is anyone else experiencing this? I just really need to reach out and know it's not just me....please help.

I agree with Ozzie. Perhaps the past abuse has more to do with it than you think. I had similar incidences in the past. It also makes you very self-conscious. However, I do know some Anti-Depressants can cause sexual side effects, so if you take one, maybe you should discuss it with a doctor. Do you have a therapist or psychiatrist? Or even your family MD?

Welcome to the boards. Hope to see you around!

Take Care,
Kimberly.

thank you both so much for responding. i'm on the depo provera shot, which i know affects libido, i've spoken at lenght with the clinician there, and there isn't much she can tell me, other than try herbal supplements (so i've started taking Estroven) and try to "switch things up". I found a girl on yahoo (since posting this) that has gone through very similar problems and she has mentioned some things that i'm going to try. just finding someone who understands has helped SO much. anyway, i'm still pretty depressed about things, but i feel like i'm connecting to people out there. i'll keep checking back for more workds of support and wisom. =) thank you so much!
