Yes, I take three. It took a long time to find the right combination, and it's still not perfect by any means. But I think it makes sense to work with a doctor to figure out the right combo, even if it takes a while. Many people (like you and me) will need to explore combinations and use more than one. At least, that's what I've read and that's what my doctor believes as well.

I used to take 2 and a mood stabiliser it helped for quite a while but the mood stabiliser no longer helps so I'm now on one with a small dose of quetiapine at night to reduce agitation and anxiety. The quetiapine makes the most difference to my quality of life.

Yes, my current "cocktail" is Lamotrigine, Mirtazapine, Trintellix, Zopiclone (for sleep - ha ha), and to kick start my mornings, Dexedrine Spansule. It has taken a little over 2 years this time to come up with something that has any effect - I am by no means better, but I know I am better than I was.

Wlebutrin, Buspar, nortryptylene. For a while with Abilify. And I have tried a whole bunch of others. Like 15 or more. Ridiculous.

The good news is that after 6 years of crushing depression despite all the drugs and lots of therapy, I am now feels no better and titration off my meds.

Yes, there has not been a time within the last four-plus years that I haven't been taking more than one. For the last 9 months it's been

Lamotrigine (Lamictal) 200mg /day
Nefazodone (Serzone) 600mg /day
Buproprion (Wellbutrin) 450mg /day

Two weeks ago pdoc prescribed a new one called Vraylar (caraprazine) .75mg /day. Technically it is off label - it is nominally for bipolar and schizophrenia - but so far it seems to be having a positive effect for me beyond placebo. (I'm your basic treatment-resistant depression and/or dysthymia, depending who's doing the diagnosis, so we'll see how it holds up.)

Other than that, the Wellbutrin (buproprion) has some beneficial effect, though it waxes and wanes. The other meds, no effect I can tell, but for now I have no reason to reject them, as they have very little side effects, so for the moment I defer to pdoc's judgment as to efficacy.

I am on three at the moment. Have tried so many combinations and nothing really works. Right now I'm taking Wellbutrin, Ritalin, and one that I can't recall at the moment but starts with a L.

I take Cymbalta for fibromyalgia/depression, Ambien for sleep. Believe me, I've taken everything out there to conquer this awful depression and I have gained weight and had so many side effects, such as no sleep. I have tried anything out there since 3 years ago. Any thing working for you? Did you have problems with lack of sleep, weight gain and hard to get up the next morning from Ambien. I've gone 5 or more days without and no sleep. So frustrating.

Over the course of 9 years I've been on 29 different meds and combinations of meds. Currently, I'm taking .625 mg of Rexulti (if I take less it seems less effective than it already does and if I take more it seems to make me hypomanic), 350 mg Topamax (for mood and migraines), .5 mg Klonopin twice a day, and 10 mg melatonin. Nothing seems all that effective, I don't really want to add anything since I take a lot of other meds for other health issues.

Yes, I am on Prozac and Wellbutrin. I too suffered with medication resistant depression and the one thing that helped was I had ECT treatments and then the antidepressants helped.

I'm on Effexor XR 150mg and mirtazapine 30mg.

The Effexor is the only medication that's ever helped but it only helps for maybe 6 months and it stops having an effect whatsoever. No other SSRIs or SNRIs help at all.

The mirtazapine does essentially nothing, but it at least limits my insomnia to two-three nights a week instead of all week.

I'm also on some anxiety meds for when things get too bad, but they don't even make me groggy or limit my depression induced anxiety, so welp to those.

Yes, I take Gabapentin as a mood stabilizer (900 mg), Seroquel (100 mg), and Wellbutrin (300 mg). Wellbutrin is my newest medication. I don't know if I'll be staying on it or not. Actually, it seems to make me more depressed. I'm supposed to take 300 mg, but the mood swings and tears are too much. When I'm on that dose, I can cry from watching a commercial on tv. Yesterday I only took 150 mg and did much better.

I am 67 years old and I've had major depressive bipolar disorder. I have in the beginning taking 21 pills a day until just recently found something that seems to work, however, in the last 2 years I have been isolating. Depression? I am not so sure. I don't go anywhere, do anything, don't go outside, have the tv on just for a little noise to help keep the bad thoughts putting myself down. But sometimes I feel absolutely nothing. It's hard to smile, get excited, even to make a few comments to husband, kids, grandkids. I sit in my recliner rolled up with my knees to my chest and just doing nothing but sometimes wonder if this is my life. I started at 30 years old. I've had multiple hospitalizations, a few that lasted a year at a time. It does get better at times,

Hi. I was also taking Lamotrigine which stopped working recently. I then had a pretty bad depressive episode which required hospitalization. I started ECT treatments and was prescribed Paxil and lithium. I was already taking adderral and Klonopin. I continued the ECT treatments upon discharge from the hospital. I was feeling the best I had in years until I had a bad reaction to the Paxil which I had to stop. My question is how is the Trintellix working for you? I saw a commercial for it on TV and am thinking of asking my pdoc about it. Thanks.
