So for some reason (hopefully this is normal) about a week before my period I get STARVING! This whole night I have eaten:

2 bowls of cereal
1 bowl of hot and sour soup
1 packet of crackers
1 PBJ
1 bowl of Ratatouille that I initially made for dinner
1 S'mores granola bar

Not to mention I have also drank 2 glasses of water, 2 glasses of milk and a cup of coffee. I absolutely positively cannot get full! What is my friggen problem?! I don't really mind because I don't gain weight....I just really hate doing the dishes!

lol saluki, I didn't see the period comment at first and just noticed you had eaten this food in one night, and I thought, "I wonder if it's almost that time of the month..." I get ravenous near my period and so does one of my friends. It's normal.

PMS sufferers consume 275% more refined sugar than non-sufferers.

Things that will help you feel better during PMS:

Eat more soy (a good source of phytoestrogens); eat tofu, legumes, lentils and green beans

Take vitamin B complex, vitamin E, magnesium and calcium

Exercise

Get some sun; light changes melatonin to serotonin.

Sorry I can't recall the source; I copied this from a magazine while waiting to see my therapist and didn't note the author or magazine.

That makes sense. I do crave soy and tofu around this time too. I think I ate Pad thai like 3 times last week lol And now that I think about it, this does happen less in the summer when I'm outside working in the sun. I just always say I'm getting ready to hibernate haha

Personally, I really don't think that's a lot that your eating. When I have my cycle I get really thirsty. Try drinking more water. I had a bmi done, and the Dr. told me to drink 2 gallons of water a day. It really helps fill you up.

2 Gallons?! Wow. I get really thirsty also. On New Years Eve I had a sinus infection AND an ear infection so even though we went to the bar I drank like 5 glasses of water just while we were there. I do drink a lot of water but I also have to have my coffee every morning.

I do drink a lot of water but I don't think it's that much. I'm like you I need coffee. It's my favorite drink. You know my cramps have gotten so much better since I've been working out again. My breast use to get really sore. It has stopped. I still have the pms, but not as bad. I was riding about 10 miles on my bicycle, but the gym has actually been better. I do some weights. A hour at least of hard cardio, and the situps. The situps hurt more then anything. Maybe excerising will help you like it has me.

Yeah I'm starting Zumba this semester. My sister takes it at the Y and talks about it all the time and how fun it is. She started to lose some baby weight and has stayed in ever since. That class starts next wednesday so hopefully it will be fun and help me out as far as PMS is concerned.
