I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but my pads never seem to work right and catch everything.

I make sure the wings cover the sides of my panties, but somehow it never fails,
I always have blood on my panties during my period.
Usually toward the top or back where there is no wings.

Am I doing something wrong????? HELP!!!

I don't think you're doing anything wrong, Miracle. The question that came to my mind is, are you using long or extra-long pads? I had the same problem as you, especially when I woke up in the morning I'd discover that I had some leakage. I was on "normal" or "regular" length pads at the time, and decided to switch to long. Since then I've had no trouble with blood going on my panties.

This is one of the many reasons I hate it all so much, I have ALWAYS had the exact same problem and it's so gross. And a waste of underwear.

Hi Miracle1986,

I'd like to second the motion for using long pads, and I'd also recommend changing your pad (at least) every couple of hours. More often if necessary. Just like tampon usage, needing to be changed on every trip to the bathroom. The more active I was, or the more fluids I took in, the faster the flow was.

Best wishes to you!

Always has these new overnight ones which are extra long, individually wrapped in purple wrappers. They have been great to help with this. I can change them more frequently during the day but I get stuck at night; they have answered my prayers.

I second the notion on Long pads, they cover front and back better. Also change frequently like 3 hours only per pad, and consider using face cloth to wash in between, and perhaps wear panties that aren't too baggy or skimpy ....make sense

I use long pads, too, plus tampons. This is overkill, I realize, but the tampons make it much more likely I won't have a mess, but every now and then, I have to leave the tampon out because I've gotten too dry to get the tampon all the way in. I feel more secure with the backup.

buying pads is kind of like buying a pair of shoes. they come in many brands and no brand labels, they not only come in various thicknesses, with sticky strips with sticky strips, with wings, no wings they also come in varying lengths. it takes time and experimenting to find the best fit. how I found my right fit was each month I bought a different pad. because I am horrible at remembering things each time I wrote it down and how it fit me or how it didnt. within 6 months I found my right fit that was the right thickness for absorbency I needed with my busy life, the right length to cover completely from front to back and the right width so I didnt feel like I was wearing a wad of cotton every time I walked.

Tampons work the same way they come in many brand names and no brand names, different absorbency levels, with applicators that may be cardboard, or plastic or no applicator, and come in various lengths. it takes experimenting and time to find the right fit for your body and lifestyle. I approached tampons the same way I did with pads and within just a few months I had my right fit.
