about 3 weeks out of the month I am suffering from what seems to be hormone related, doc won't check my hormones as my cycle is regular, but I get very irritable and agitated, more intrusive thoughts, exhaustion, weird head sensations pressure and brain fog/derealization/out of it, panic attacks, achey and numb legs and arms sometimes starting as soon as 14 days before cycle..

so as soon as i ovulate symptoms can start up getting worse the closer to cycle i get.. after flow ends i feel very depressed because im coming down from all the stress and mess i made in my relationships with my moods plus exhausted as my mental health goes to crap. can anyone else relate, has anything helped? im only getting about 1 weeks a month where i feel "normal'ish"

Have you seen a neurologist for the head sensations and numbness of legs and arms?

Whatever effect pms has on me, involves the day or two prior to ovulation. Any irritability, I have discovered involves body distortion and exhaustion. Exhaustion can affect moods.

Other than your OB/GYN, do you address these symptoms with a pdoc?

I havent seen a neurologist, i figured it was part of anxiety same with the arms and legs. I am in therapy with a psychologist, have had regular lab work up with my gp all normal but she wont test hormones as im regular every 28 days, blood pressure runs about 90/60. only things that have been wrong is low vitamin D levels were 14 i got them up to 30. Bilirubin has been elevated a couple times 1.7,1.5,2.0 but doc isnt too concerned, calcium is on higher end 10.4, and monocytes were elevated. doc says my hormones are fine and that im depressed and anxious. my dx is ocd (primarily obsessive), panic disorder, social anxiety, agoraphobia, Generalized anxiety and some depression
Thanks for this!

I can relate. For my sisters and I, it's a genetic thing. We were all just cursed with horribly strong hormones.
Birth control might help some. Although everybody's body is different.
I hope you find something that works well for you

I have PMDD and get all of the symptoms you described plus more in the lead up to my period (up to 14 days also). Its caused an overall depression in me now, so while most of the symptoms disappear once my period starts, I am still suffer from a low mood after.

What kind of birth control do you use? The pill can help. I've been given the mirena since all other hormonal birth control is out for me personally. Im still waiting for it to kick into gear, got a few months to go. But any of those birth control options have been known to help level out the hormones a bit.

I can understand how hard it is

I go through this too. About two weeks before, my anxiety goes up, I'm more obsessive, irritable, depressed, and generally stressed. Oh, and the insomnia is bad. I talked to my current T about possible PMDD (since my exT mentioned it) and she said it's possible.

The only two treatments I've heard about were birth control or antidepressants, but I'm scared of meds. I have heard about a progesterone cream that you can rub on your lower abdomen during said time, but I don't know if it helps.

I would FIRE my Dr and get another for a 2nd opinion, someone who will listen to you, preferably a lady doc. Maybe PMDD? Sounds scary what you have, and you shouldn't have to suffer like that.

I agree with second opinions. And push for neurology, too. Don't brush off everything as psychological, with a neuro check. Some things have same symptoms.

Then can rule in or out pmdd.
Anyone mention, neuropathy to you? I don't know your full history. And I'm not about to ask. Bloodwork, you did, is gp bloodwork.

Get a Dr, that is willing to establish a team of specialists..

I had/ have this to the T. The past few months I've been on birth control/ hormone pills, and it's very weird how I've only had this about less than 1/3 of what I used to. I feel like a whole new person, almost.
And this is coming from someone who absolutely hates!!!! medicine. I was strongly opposed to BC for more than a year, but gave in, as what you mentioned, and the unbearably painful cramps just pushed me too far.

If you are willing to try BC, I'd talk with your doctor about everything you're going through and ask if BC will help any. I hope you're feeling better & I send you safe hugs <333
