Thats how I feel. Like I'm just one of the guys. All the guys that I'm interested aren't interested in me. They all go after the cute thin little ones. The only guy who likes me is unavailable situationally. I know I'm on a pity pot over this, but I'm seriously starting to develop a complex!!! I'm just the fun girl that guys like to hang out with. Just like one of the guys. Anyone relate?

Ok so, this is weird. I get a text message tonight from a guy in my homegroup that says, "Hey do you have a few minutes to talk? I want to ask you something." I say, "Yep, just got home." He says, "Shall I call you?" I say, "You shall if you like."

Immediately I think hmmmm whats this about? But I instantly shrug it off thinking, he's just calling to ask a question about the homegroup or AA or something.

So he calls and he says, "Ok so bare with me, I haven't done this in 4 years. But I wanted to ask you if you'd like to go out sometime?" !!!!!!!!!!! My heart skipped....I said, "I'd love to." And he was like "Really? You just made this so much easier on me, I was so nervous, I was going to ask you at the meeting tonight." And I said, "Oh and I wasn't there!" And he said, "Yeah I noticed." Ok....I won't rehash the entire conversation here.

What I will say is that I've known him for going on 2 years and love what he has to say in meetings. He has like 9 years sober, and does social work. I've noticed myself catching his eye over the last few months, but made myself think nothing of it. And now here he is asking me out.

We've been text messaging since then, and he just asked me, "Do you have a dream first date?" Wow, what a good question. I told him I've never actually been picked up for a date. So I'd like to picked up and taken out to eat, and then a movie or pool or something. He said I'd kick his butt at pool so that wouldn't be any fair. He can pick me up and then its a suprise......WOW. Wow.......wow.........WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lucky lucky!

Have fun! Just one of the guys

And I do relate to your original post. I swear I have more guy friends that I get along better with than girls. Too bad, some of my friends are ... cute. (sigh, I am pathetic)

But yeah, have a good date Just one of the guys

This is not a guy from my usual group, which I'm thinking is probably a good thing. At least a new thing, or something. Tee heeee!!

So our date isn't until today, but I already have an update. Just one of the guys

We were texting all day yesterday, so from the time he called to ask me out on Thursday at 8:30pm, we were talking expect when we slept.

We were both going to the 5:30 meeting, so we knew we'd see each other there before our date today. I met with my sponsor and then went to the meeting and he wasn't there yet. He works until 5. I was so nervous to see him! So we're texting right up until 5:30. He got there just in time for the meeting to start. We smiled at each other from across the room. After the meeting he came up to me and we talked out in front of the meeting room for a few minutes and then he walked me to my car. I had to pick up my friend for the usual Friday meeting at 7:30. He told me that he purposly showed up right at 5:30 so I wouldn't be nervous!!! It was true, for some reason it was easier to see him after the meeting than it would have been to see him before, I don't know why. I had to leave and we hugged.

We texted for the next about 2 hours; I went to my meeting and then a group of us always go to the diner afterwards. I invited him to join us but he wanted to give me time with friends, so we just texted. Then I told him that a group of goes to the college campus after the diner to walk and chat. He said he wanted to join us there.

So we all met up at the college campus and it was just him and me and my friend and the guy she likes. The 4 of us ended up at the usual spot and talked to our respective love interests. Just one of the guys It was great, we just talked and talked. Sitting closely but not really touching most of the night. Then the other couple left and he started rubbing my back. We decided that it had become our first date. We left shortly thereafter and on the walk back to the cars, he grabbed my hand. As we hugged goonight, he kissed me......we probably kissed for about 5 minutes. It was that perfect kind of kiss....tender with hidden passion yet to be unleashed. We made ourselves separate because it was about 2:30am.....and our scheduled date is at noon today. Just one of the guys

We texted a little bit before finally going to sleep. He's picking me up in a little over 2 hours. We're having italian for lunch, and he says there's a suprise. I wish I could share all of the texts....he's definetely a romantic. I said something about it not taking him as long to get ready and he said I'd be beautiful no matter how long it takes me. He said I have a beautiful smile. But the best one, that I had to share with my friend at the diner said, "I think its 'you had me at hello'" *swoon!*

So the first date was going to be today at noon, but now its the second one. Just one of the guys

Wow girls......WOW. He brought a dozen red roses when he picked me up. We went to lunch at this italian place and talked talked talked. Then he took me to see Reign Over Me, that new Adam Sandler movie. He came in and met my cat and hung out for about 20 minutes until I had to pick my friend up from work. She and I went to a meeting and then she went out with a friend from work and I went to his place to watch a movie. We watched it and talked and cuddled and kissed and laughed. I was there extremely late, it was nearing 3am. I was very tired. I ended up staying the night but he was absolutely respectful. Nothing happened and waking up with him was a dream! We laughed in bed for awhile and then got up and talked some more. I just got home. I have to get ready to go to my family's soon.

HE HAS SWEPT ME OFF MY FEET.....we're texting now...its like we can't not be in contact. He's wonderful, a gentleman, knows how to touch my back just right to give me chills. I can't even begin to explain how I'm feeling, there's no words! I've never felt this way before. He hasn't either. He said he usually needs his space after being with someone for 12 hours and he didn't want me to go. I don't think I would have if I didn't have Easter plans with the family.

Everything was amazing, absolutely perfect. I am sooooo happy right now!!!!!!
