I have been going to the gym for 3 months now, including powerplate and it has done more for me than meds and dieting. Even if I haven't lost weight yet (I had a thread somewhere in health I think).

Yup - feels like forever ... doesn't it!

You're doing great!!

Yeah its really amazing how working out has helped me mentally and its only been a week. Did my upper body workout today and added some cardio. I can't wait until Saturday when its time to do weight and measurements to see if there's already been a change. I can already see it slightly, and my clothes are just a tad looser. Please help me motivate!

I just finished my ab workout and I struggled a bit more with it then I have been. Maybe my body is tired from doing a workout a day for 8 days. I'm afraid if I take a day off, that I'll get out of the habit.

I'm going back on my injections that I do for my MS tonight. I've been off of them for about 2 months because of a change in insurance. I'm a little concerned about still being able to work out as hard when I'm back on them. They cause flu like symptoms so I'm always achy the day after I do them, and I do them every other day. So I may have to switch the workouts to every other day on days where I didn't inject the night before. I'll see how it all goes.

I feel pretty proud of myself, but with how hard it was today, I wonder if I'm overdoing it.

So Saturday was the day for weight and measurements. I actually gained 5 pounds, but I'm not too worried cuz I'm building muscle, and I'm also on my period which adds weight.

The inches were the exciting thing! I lost a total of 3.25 inches in only 8 workouts! So its given me renewed motivation. I still haven't missed a day of workouts. Feeling pretty good! Even being back on my injections, I'm still able to work out everyday. Please help me motivate!

I think the 3.25inches is way better than looking at pounds for the reasons you already said.

Good on You!!!!! It has only been a week!!!! I hope seeing results is a really good motivator to continue.

Yesterday (Sunday) I didn't have time to workout in the morning/afternoon so I had to do it in the evening after my pool league. It sucks doing it that late but I had to. I did it this morning too even though I'm not feeling well. Its becoming habit. Finally a good habit!

((((ray)))) i'm so happy with your progress. i've read through my researching on the internet about ms (docs thought i had ms when i had my stroke) and found that if you can exercise, you'll be able to handle ms better. what i'm trying to say is that when you have an exacerbation, you'll be able to recover better and, possibly, faster than if you didn't. i know fatigue and temperatures, particularly, heat is an issue, but balancing is a good way to do it. i think you're doing really great.

Thanks!! Yeah the excersise is incredibly important for the MS, thats for sure. The pilates are perfect because I don't get too hot. Its already helping with stability and I'm not lurching nearly as much, so there's benefits all the way around!!

So the true test is when someone who hasn't seen ya in awhile notices weight loss. My friend's mom picked her up from a meeting yesterday and had no idea I've been working out. She commented to my friend that I've lost weight!!! Woo hooo!!!! She's the first who's said anything, but everyone else sees me all the time so its not as noticeable. I'm stoked!!!!!!

Please help me motivate! I am a mother of three who has been diagnosed with MS since 1990- in 2001 they told me it wasn't MS but systemic lupus with central nervous system envolement I know how difficult it is to stay motivatated but just keep going - evenn whenn I was in my wheel chair at age 30 I was out coaching my daughters cheerleading squad- it's very important to see beyond today.

Hi! Welcome to PC! Please help me motivate!

I got my MS dx about a year and a half ago and for a long time I just kinda walked around in a daze. Started treatment, seeing docs etc.

I'm finally out of that daze and ready to take my life back. So things are looking up big time and I'm glad to have met you! You seem like you're not lettin your lupus get you down, and I need people like that in my life - hence the help me motivate subject line lol! I was really afraid I wouldn't keep up on the workouts but I've had a lot of support!

When I first started seeing my neurologist he said to me "don't get fat". (Yeah he tells it to me straight lol). Weight gain is a big factor for people with MS he said because fat cells make it harder for the nerves fire and my nerves are already damaged. Also he said that excersise would keep me strong and help with fatigue. Well I'm the type that I'm so bad at doing that stuff.....I would do my pilates dvd every so often but I was putting on the pounds.

Then a woman was brought into my life who had 4 pilates dvd's put out by the same instructor and she gave them to me and has been a huge part of my motivating. So I'm very grateful to her and everyone here for being my cheerleaders!

I have to rat myself out that I didn't do workouts this weekend. It was an extremely busy weekend. But I was back at them yesterday and today.

well i did a little yoga last yesterday and a little more today. and by a little i mean a little but my back pain was out of control today and thats the only thing that helps. and the reason i did it was cos i was thinking of you and how dedicated you ve been recently. Please help me motivate! with all your talking about measuring too i bought myself a measuring tape last week. havent had the courage to actually use it yet but i will! soooo... now your motivation seems to be catching a little. what you have to say for yourself now then! spreading such a terrible thing as the urge to exercise around! how could you!? Please help me motivate! Please help me motivate!

well its 9pm and im wrecked after long day at work, my back is killing me and i want to go to bed! but... if i do yoga before i go it will help my back and i ll feel better. but... i also want to wash up my dirty dishes because if i dont do it now they ll pile up and i ll start feeling out of control and get depressed again. but... if i dont go to bed now it ll be even harder to get up for work in the morning. i was late this morning even though i was in bed at 10pm last night.
sooooo.... do i do the yoga or the dishes or go to bed??? decisions decisions! argh!
if you ve been working out since your last measurements you may well get to see double the figure you would have seen if you had measured last saturday so missing a measuring may be a very good idea! hehe. did you do the bun and thigh workout?? im so in awe that you re being so successful at keeping this up!
alright i ll do some very quick yoga and aim for bed by 9.30. (im such a sleepaholic! lol)
night night!

I did the workout. Aaah its hard but I'm seeing results. I'm very tired right now and its only 2pm! I had an appointment with vocational rehab at 10 so I had to do the workout before that. And now I'm doing laundry and trying to clean up a bit. My boyfriend is coming over tonight (as part of our comprimising so that I'm not always at his place, he knows that my model show is on but still wants to come over haha) but my place is a mess. MY dishes are totally piled up lol and the carpet needs a good vacuum. You know what I tell myself when I see the dishes and am disgusted that I have to wash them? Dirty dishes means I had food to prepare, however gross or unhealthy it might be (popcorn for dinner last night). Ahhh....I use gratitude a lot to keep me motivated. Like.....if I make myself do the buns workout, I'll be grateful when I look at my rear end in the mirror and see thats its firming up hahaha!!!!!!!!!

Please help me motivate! i wouldnt wish that on my worst enemy!
soooo im going to bed! yea! now that im grateful for. a nice cuddly warm bed with a hot water bottle. Please help me motivate!
have fun this evening with your bf! hey if you ve found a guy who will watch a model show with you then dont let him go! lol. and btw whats wrong with popcorn for dinner?? have done it many a time myself! hehe.
i ll be away for the weekend and wont be able to get online but i ll be looking forward to seeing your updates on your motivation levels when i get back on sunday! no pressure of course! Please help me motivate!

So since September 13, doing workouts every day, I've lost a cumulative total of 6.5 inches!!! I'm not seeing a difference on the scale, but inches don't lie, and my clothes are fitting better!!!
