So I gave a lot of my summer clothes that don't fit me anymore to my niece. This means that I have to go shopping for new summer clothes. So I go to try on jeans. And I'm seriously sick of this crap.

I go to Kohl's. One pair of jeans is an 11 and fits perfectly. Another pair of 11s is too small. One pair fits around my waist but is too short so I go for an 11 long and those are too long. So I go to American Eagle. A pair of shorts in 10s fit me. Another pair is too big. So then I get some jeans in a size 10 and theyre huge on me. Keep in mind, these are all the same brand.

I just don't get it! How can one company.... make several different sizes of jeans... and then put the same size on the tag?! This is even more frustrating because Im trying to lose weight. So I go in, try on a pair of 10s and see theyre too big. I get all excited thinking Ive gone down a size. Then a pair even bigger than that doesn't fit me!

And what sucks even more is that I have a big *** lol. Don't get me wrong, I like it. But then I have to buy jeans way too big just to fit over my ***. When did they start making clothes that are geared towards women who are shaped like a tongue depresser? Do women just not have curves anymore? Its very depressing going shopping now. Even though Im only overweight by maybe 5 lbs, I feel like a fat *** because I have a normal body!

I just got very aggravated shopping today and wish I could just wear parkas all the time. Maybe ill move to Alaska.

I hate buying pants. Women come in too many shapes and sizes for a simple numbering system to work well. I try to shop for dress pants at places that offer free alterations, and for jeans, I keep planning to research places that offer custom; I was in San Francisco last year and the Levi's store normally does that but their fitting machine was out of order.

Yeah, really frustrating - I hear ya.

I don't understand why the companies don't make it more simple to buy pants. Pants shopping is a nightmare.

Actually, I think that the clothing industry should make it LESS simple -- women don't have simple shapes. There should be better fitting systems and standards in place.

Some companies (usually the more expensive brands) do this better than others, but I've been too lazy to research it. One of these days I will.

I love to buy and shop. Just a quick note I heard once that the fit varies by who really makes the clothes One line may be made in China another isomewhere else....all the same company. I also heard that the higher end clothes companies say a size is smaller so people will feel better about buying their clothes ...I do not know how true this is but go to Macys or Nordstrom's and you will be thinner Sick of buying clothes! that is true. at a place like Abercrombie, I wear way smaller than at a place like Kohl's. American Eagle is also smaller for me than other department stores.

Personally, I wish there was "one-size fits all" pants and ALL women had to wear them.

They would have a bungee belt that you would pull to fit you. They would come in 100 different colors so there would be some variety.

Just think, this way, pants would fit all the time and no one would look stupid because we would all have the same thing. Sick of buying clothes!

I absolutely love to shop and probably have enough stuff to clothe a small country, but I will agree with you-- buying pants is a pain. The annoyance for me is that I am only 5 ft. tall so I have to add an extra 7 bucks or so to every pair of pants I buy-- because every pair has to be hemmed. They don't make pants for short people. Even pants that say "petite" are still not for people of my height. In my collection of pants, I have sizes that start at 0 and go up to 5. It never made sense as to why all of these sizes fit me, but I guess it just depends on the cut. What annoys me is when you find something you like and you have to bring 12 versions of it into the dressing room because you are not sure which size will be the best fit. However, there is nothing that could make me stop shopping. I love, love, love, love, love clothes.

its just so hard to feel good about yourself if youre aa woman. deep down, we know that women on magazine covers and billboards are airbrushed and photoshopped to all hell, but its still hard to see that. especially because thats what a lot of guys like. they like the fake ones and its nearly impossible to look like that.

eh... the older you get, the less you care about the 'standard'. I think guys care less about the standard as they get older as well.
