Laboratory Technician in an aerospace company.

I have degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, but at one point I had to decide if I wanted to keep my job or let someone get hurt. The decision was easy, but it lead to myself and my family ending up homeless. So now I just break stuff and burn stuff for cheap wages and don't really care to ever be in charge ever again.

Right now i am a self-employed domestic cleaner.
I used to be an enabler at Uni but had to give it up.

Up until about a week or so ago I was a software engineer.
Now I am setting up my own business creating websites and software.
I only graduated this year so... only lasted about 3 and a half months in the job.
I had worked as a software engineer for a year placement during my degree and hated it then too.
I'm good at engineering software I'm just not good at being tied to a desk.

I want to say nothing. I like this thread,*smiles*
The question is, is this really the job you want for the rest of your life....
Nobody likes to be tied to a desk.
Can we all be entrepreneurs? I don't know.

For the past year and a little bit I have been an assistant at a daycare. I love the kids, but I constantly worry that all my coworkers think I am horrible at my job and that all the kid's parents think I'm weird. I have nightmares about getting fired all the time. Before that I was an intern/assistant type person for a company that does kid's birthday parties and after school programs. Though I was only in the office, not with the kids for that job. Before that I sorted clothes at Goodwill, but that was through my school's vocational program so I only got $20 a week. It worked out to like $1.50 an hour!

The first two jobs I had I got through my school's vocational program, and the one I have now I only got because I'm related to the owner. I worry all the time that I will never be able to get another job because I come off as too weird. After my second job's hours got cut way back I applied at every place in town that was hiring and some that weren't and never got as much as a call back, except for one place that emailed me and stopped replying when they found out I didn't speak Spanish. (It was a Mexican Restaurant, but they said "fast food" on Craigslist.) So I worry even more about losing my current job. I always worry that I will have to go back into the hospital and I'll lose my job, or if I start cutting again and they find out they'll think I'm too unstable to be around children.

Someday I want to own my own handmade jewelry business online or have a store on Ebay where I find things for cheap, clean them up and sell them for more. But I'm worried I'll get a bad feedback on my first sale and never sell anything again so I haven't started yet. Plus, I don't know if I'd be able to make enough money doing that to support myself. Eventually I want to be able to have my own little brick and mortar shop where I sell a little of everything I love.

Senior Accountant. I was laid off in 2009 due to the economy, went back to school, scrambled with part-time jobs but since a few months in a position that is right up my alley: full-time accounting position at non-profit organization.
For all people who are unemployed and looking for jobs: keep the faith! I know it's not easy because I've been in that position myself but things will work out at the right time.

I'm currently in nursing school. I work two jobs, both as a nurse's aide. One on an OB unit, the other on a med-surg unit. I'm a chronic job hopper, but I hope to settle in the NICU someday. My dream job would be to work with babies.

I've worked for the public library for 7 years. I like it because we share all of our things and help the public. Plus I don't have to sit at a desk all day.

I used to work at high level positions in large offices. I have been unemployed or working from home. I just started a job at a pet store. They don't know about the lupus or any of my other issues. It's only part time but there will be a lot of heavy lifting during short shifts. I am doing it because I want to be a dog trainer and they offer a training program for that. I am scared but I have been home and isolated for almost eight years. I really feel like I need to do this. God help me.
