I'm so sick of my lazy coworkers that I'm actually hiding in the restroom from them! I work hard all night while they sleep??!! Then about this time they want me to help them because all their beds need changed. My job is physically and mentally taxing, I physically can't do my work and theirs. Lazy coworkers SUCK!

You are right, they do suck. Not everyone has a good work ethic these days and it is such a tragedy. How anyone can expect someone else to do their work is beyond me.

You are only paid to do your work and technically have no responsibility for theirs. Your manager is clearly not doing supervising very well here.

Oh my gosh, Mrs. Mania, I thought I was the only one who did this.

I used to (and sometimes still do on bad days) hide in the bathroom at work to either cry when I get extremely anxious and overwhelmed or to have a panic attack. I guess that's a different issue altogether though.
If your coworkers are sleeping why do you have to hide from them? I really think you should talk to your supervisor about their sleeping on the job. They'll get canned and you won't have to worry about them anymore.

Thanks for the responses. I have gone past the top management about the issue and about the rampant neglect to the patients. When that didn't work, I contacted the state agency. I've worked here 6months and state has been here 5 times. Yet absolutely nothing has improved.
I only hide from them at the end of shift when they wake to huge messes. It's gotten so bad residents are now finding me when I come in asking me to help them. ![]() |

I work at a nursing home. Saddest, most atrocious, cruelest warehouse for the sick and elderly I've ever worked in. I'm embarrassed to work there, but I love some of those peeps like family. I also know I'm the only smile, hug and compassion they will see that week. ( I'm not trying to toot my own horn, it's a sickening fact). I have literally tried every avenue to improve their situation, the only thing I feel I have left is my love. It's terrifying to know how little empathy and morality people have
