I had a cry of frustration at the library yesterday looking at the career, business, money making section. I small cry which is a huge improvement from the heavy crying I used to do. I was so frustrated that I can't get a job for 8 years. The right kind. You don't understand how helpless and powerless I feel. No matter what I do and don't do...the amount of frustration.

I feel so ashamed! I have a college degree!

So sorry for your employment situation eggplantlife. I've posted this before but I have a friend who got a temp job through Goodwill working for state government. That temp job led to a full-time job in her field. Goodwill will help with resume prep and career counseling. You might consider contacting them if you have not already. (((hugs)))
Thanks for this!

Hi little lulu. Yes, I did see the other post. I'm glad it worked out for your friend.
Thank you.

I'm sorry, I see that I didn't put full detail like I usually do because of the state I was in.

I do have a job that calls me when they need me. It's not a lot of hours. I do have a some other kind of situation but none that leads me to have my own place and my stuff back or even money.

It needs to be me -- I guess to lift myself out of this.

I think I am not writing and thinking correctly. There are so many motivational books and career guides and everything like that...I just have not been doing right by me. I know it is the place I am at. I think. But I am suppose to start from where I am.

I tried so hard to open up my life again. So hard. I really don't understand why I haven't moved forward in this.

I do feel great shame.

What degree do you hold?
What job do you want right now?
Where do you want to live?
Is the job you want available where you are living?

I would focus on those 4 things at the moment. Don't worry about 30 years from now, retirement or "making money" at this point. What you want is to start and after you have your start you can address the future a little at a time.
Take things a day at a time, and be willing to tell people what job you are looking for. You never know who will be able to help you. Courage!
