Hi Guys,
I have been having a really tough time lately getting things done. I work from home and I'm alone all day. I have been unmotivated and losing chunks of time - where I start working and all of a sudden it's been 2 hours and I haven't even checked my emails.... I think it's PTSD related, and/or depression.

My boss is really supportive of my situation. She was one of the first/only people that I confided in about how difficult things are right now. But she does have a business to run.... and I'm negatively affecting it by underperforming.

I don't know how to get caught up or how to stay on top of things. There are no more excuses... Now my baby is sick and I'm going to have a really tough time getting things done tomorrow... I'm so afraid it'll be the last straw.

Anyone have any tips or tricks or suggestions? I have THE BEST job ever and it would break my heart to lose it...TIA!

Do you have any some evidence that you're going to be fired? If you don't, I wouldn't worry too much (although there IS something to work on here).

Have you tried looking fo a doctor/therapist? At least to have some idea of what's going on.

I wish you the best of luck

Take a break. Book some time out. Then you can get whatever it is out of your system. Don't just keep working and try to tough it out. Your body is trying to tell you it's tired and needs a recharge. Good luck.

I lost my job recently this week. I have to learn to bite the bullet. It sucks but what can I do?

Routine is very important to me. With some occasional variation, I basically do the same things, in the same way, every day. Sometimes I just HATE IT! But I keep doing it & having a set routine helps. So my thought here would be to develop a daily schedule for yourself including all of the things you need to do. (I don't have mine written out. It simply evolved over time. But you might consider writing yours out.) Then stick to it! Don't allow yourself to deviate unless there's a genuine reason for having to. After a while, it may become habit. At least my routine has for me. Many years ago, my father used to say: "You're not required to like it. You're just required to do it." I take that as my motto...

I agree to try and set a schedule. Also, sometimes if I want to take a break for a bit, I set a timer on my phone, 15 minutes, half an hour and then when it rings I get back to work.

I have worked from home for years. I recently started a new job after about 6 months of unemployment. This is also freelance from home. I admit that I am having a bit of trouble trying to get back into a work mindset. If you want, maybe we could check in with each other, either through a thread here or via PM on a regular basis. We could discuss what we have to do each day and what we have finished. It could help us both focus on what we need to do a bit more. Let me know if you want to do that!
