blindsided

i just started working at a new place. one of the staff asked me out to lunch. i was so happy she extended a hand of friendship. but i didn't know i was walking into the lion's den... lunch went okay. i took the leftovers in a container and put it in a plastic bag. during the ride back to the office, she suddenly said do you want a grocery bag? i went huh? she said it again a few times. i thanked her but said i had lots of reusable bags already. she then said i was irritating her and that i needed to get my head up and look around once in a while. again i thought huh? she insulted me again and again. i couldn't believe it. then i realized she offered me the bag in case my plastic bag leaked but she wasn't clear about her intentions. i thought she was a nice person but it turned out she is a meanie. i am mad at myself for letting this woman get to me. if it is bugging me that means she wins and that is the last thing i want. and i am sad i don't have a friend i talk to often enough to share this with right away..

It seems weird that she behaved like that, but don't give up too soon. In workplaces you can meet up all kinds of people, even some weird ones Did you explain to her that you didn't understand the question at first?

Um, what's the difference between a grocery bag and a plastic bag? To me, they are one in the same.

She sounds worthy of declining any future invites. Geesh. Get your head up and look around? Wth?

no i didn't explain because i was so caught off guard. she tried to be nice to me today. weird...tx!

i know. it was just rice and chicken.no liquid. i will decline future invites..like they say, hurt me once, shame on you, hurt me twice, shame on me. tx!
