I have a friend who has been taking this stuff for about a month now, pretty regularly. Either 2 of the 15 Extended Release or one of the 30 Regular Tablets.
Now he has talked about just stopping. Is this a good idea? Wouldn't it make more sense to just taper off slowly so that the withdrawels effects are not too overwhelming? Don't Doctors usually recommend it? Not just suddenly stop, especially after taken it for about four weeks. Does anyone have expierence with Addreall, the side effects, the withdrawels and what to recommend to someone who wants to quit? Thanks

I'm not a doctor or pharmacist, but my daughter was on it and her doctor had no problem with her just stopping it once school was out for the week or the summer or holidays. She never had any ill effects from it.
Good luck to your friend.

My son was on it for his ADD. He just took it when he had school-- he didn't take it on the weekends. He was on it for a year and never had withdrawals when he didn't take it.
I may be wrong but I don't think there are withdrawals--- it's my understanding that it doesn't accumulate in your system like some other drugs. mandy |
