I'm glad you're being good to yourself by integrating healthy habits into your daily routine. Most of all, I'm glad you're having luck keeping that plug in the jug. Keep it up! You're sounding better each time you post.
Thanks for this!

Well done for getting this far. I am glad that you are still keeping positive.

We are also here if things don't go so well. So remember, if you aren't so positive about it all then please post that too. Sometimes when you have had encouragement, when things are then hard or you make mistakes etc. You might feel you don't want to post because of feeling expectation or that we will feel your disappointment. But this is the time when you should lean on us all for support, the most.

I can't imagine how hard you find it all and very much give my support thro good and more thro bad. So no matter what, please come back for support

Well done to you xxxxxxxx
Thanks for this!

In AA I think you get a medal for hitting 30 days. Your half way there. I've met people who took months and months of intending to be sober to put together a 14 days stretch of time.
At 14 days you should be well past any withdrawal if you only have an alcohol problem. When you finally get a little more time sober, you won't believe how much easier your life will become. Just physically not having the drunk or high and then the hangover of withdrawal is going to make things easier. You will also get mentally/emotionally straightened out.
In a few years, when you look back on this, you are going to regret that you didn't do it years sooner. It will be one of those bitter/sweet regrets.
Thanks for this!

day 14, your in the pink cloud stages. Remember it gets harder at times. I'm 7 months in (not drinking) and I can't tell you how much life improves. People start to trust you again, its just a good thing all around. Good luck man. Don't give up. Just tell yourself that you can't give in, you'll do fine.
Thanks for this!

Congratulations !! I think you are right if a post helps even one person it's worth the post !! Sometimes its the " small " things that people do that have a great impact on others. I personally found your post to be helpful. Keep up the great work !!

Congratulations!!!! You should be very proud of yourself, this is not an easy journey.

I had 2 years sober on st Patricks day. AA really helped and I met a lot of great people.

I have lost 45 lbs in the last seven months. Craved chocolate a lot in the first year.

Life is so much better but that pink cloud does go away and you have to do the work to learn what emotions you were numbing and what your drinking triggers are. It's also very important to have a good support system.

Best of everything to you!

Well.....Ive all but forgotten I posted this, but Ive been sober for 110 days now....Thats a record for me since two years ago when my sobriety only lasted a few weeks tops....

Since then, Ive come to the realization that this journey is not for me.... but for those that love me too much to see me continue down the path of alcoholism....

I love them back, so I have turned over a new leaf....Their persistent prayers worked, and not only they.....but I .....couldn't be happier.

....And greatful...

I understand what you mean; I got sober for my daughter. It wasn't for me at all. I hated myself too much to care about my own well being. It took the love for my daughter to stop the madness. Now I'm beginning to love myself a little more each day. I remember NA people always saying "you can't do it for your kids, or your parents...you have to do it for yourself"... I think as long as you get clean for someone or something that's all that matters.

Thanks all.

I've been shown that there are people who really do care about others who struggle with, as well as those who overcome addictions.
