Why is it, when you reach an epiphany (hard to spell - epiphany, I mean...), you go out and get drunk?
I guess I should replace "you" with "meeee" Seeing the truth, sometimes, feels so good, but looks soooo bad... Have a hard time on this site. I must be too vicious... Any suggestions from those that really know?? Altered State (but actually, %#@&#! - up state) ![]()

((((Altered))))
Could it be that after realizing, you are falling back on old habits that die hard??? Maybe a plan for how to deal should be in place so that you have something else to lean on instead of the old way of dealing? Maybe I'm out of my mind for thinking that, but it's the only idea I could come up with at the moment. Hugsssssss J |

Hello Altered State.
I am sorry you are having a hard time at this time, and I hope things get better for you VERY VERY soon. Sometimes becoming a person you can and want to be meets a lot of opposition from others that dont share the same sentiments. No person ever became a good person and the person they want to be from anyone elses critique, they became great from perseverence when times get tough. Take care Altered State. Soidhonia

Sometimes it's easiest to go back to what we know (I'm an expert at it). Just remember that change is possible and even if you have messed up today, tomorrow is another day to try something different.
I don't know if this will make sense to you but sometimes when things are going too well, I can't believe it / deal with it and have to go back to old self destructive patterns & wind up drinking. Maybe we just have to learn that it's ok to be ok? --splitimage |

All pain is in the resistance, and pain is the touchstone of change.
For someone like me to change from what I was, a daily drunk, into what I am now, someone who isn’t a daily drunk, it took an enormous amount of pain. Physical, mental, and spiritual. As odd as it sounds, what you are going through can be a good think, if you decide that the pain you are going through just isn’t worth the effort. Recovery isn’t a magic bullet, some effort on your part is required, but the payoff is well worth it. Richard |
