During the chat tonight we talked about gratitude lists. Its been said to me that a grateful alcoholic/addict won't drink or use. So....I had this idea when I was going to let my friend's dog out.

I'm gonna start a gratitude list and number it. Lets continue the numbers and see how high we go......even if we repeat the things we're grateful for, lets just keep it going. So if I leave off at 10, pick it up at 11. Lets see how high with gratitude we can get. Gratitude Thread

I am grateful for:

1. My sobriety
2. PC - Espcially our little fellowship of recovery, and how far I've come since I used to get drunk in the chat room here.
3. That when I went to let the dog out the clouds were clearing, which made me grateful that this horrid cold doesn't last forever.
4. My apartment and that I've actually managed to keep everything turned on.
5. My good little Honda that has lasted too long without an oil change.
6. My cat who is constant company
7. My computer because without it I wouldn't have PC.
8. My Grandma - Nuff said.
9. My boyfriend, because he not only loves me for me but he helps me learn more about myself every day.
10. Tylenol, well because I'd be absolutely miserable without it right now.

So..........pick it up at 11. And lets continue it. So we always have a place to come to be reminded that we all have something to be grateful for. Even simple things. PC is a HUGE part of my recovery, and I need this forum especially.

I'm grateful for:

21. My sobriety
22. I made it to my friend's and back to let his dog out in the insane and thick FOG that I'm so not used to driving in.
23. My sponsee that called this morning just to check in.
24. I get to be of service to my grandma today.
25. The fog is lifting and it is starting to dry out so already my body is feeling better.
26. My medication for MS even though it makes me hurt the morning after, at least is keeping bad stuff from happening.
27. That even though its hard on me to check on my friend's pets all these days, I'm helping a friend, and helping others always gets me out of myself.
28. Coffee
29. PC and this forum especially.

Oh and

30. I'm grateful for the opportunity to work the steps with others, because nothing ensures my sobriety more than working with others, and its such a wonderful opportunity to help as others helped me in the beginning, and continue to help me now.

I haven't posted here because right now I'm not feeling grateful for much. I know I should but I don't.

So here goes, what can I dig up that I'm grateful for?

31. That I found a new T that I like.
32. That the producer/director team I was writing for liked the new script.
33. That my children are safe and happy.
34. That I can write.

I think that's about it for me today. Still, good exercise as two minutes ago I didn't think I was grateful for anything.

Isn't it amazing how we can always seem to find something when we really search for it?

35. I'm still sober.
36. I finally got called for a job interview!!!!
37. I know I've done the necessary footwork and after the interview its out of my hands, and will work out exactly how it's supposed to.
38. I'm soooo grateful I have that attitude about the interview and possible job because its so much easier to enjoy my evening.
39. I'm sticking to my commitment and going to the monthly general service meeting for Tucson AA tonight, even though I REALLY don't want to.....
40. Watching my friend's pets means I'm borrowing his TiVo to record the show I'll miss because of the meeting.
41. Vocational Rehab helped me get a kick arse interview outfit so I'll be confident tomorrow.
42. The rain stopped today.
43. Grandma's phone got fixed.
44. Dad got kudos at his job and now his employment isn't in jeopardy like he had feared.
