My h finally told me he thinks he has a problem with alcohol. He said he was going to try to stop drinking. You would think that made me happy but it didn't. I was mostly scared.
I have two choices, him sober in a pissy mood, angry, mean, temperamental, agressive. Or him drunk.
I much rather have him drunk!!!
I have never bought him beer or any alcohol, even if I know he is out, however I know he'll take care of that, and that works for me.
Isn't it awful?
I told him this anyway, so he knows.

I completely agree with Ozzie's post. Is there any way that your H would consider talking to his doc about meds? Even if you could convince him to tell his doc that he is quitting booze, and that it makes him really mean and irritable. Perhaps his doc would prescribe xanax, or something to calm his nerves while he goes through alcohol withdrawal? Is he going to go to AA?

He know he has problems, remember we attempted t together, went two times, my t told me she didn't want to waist her time on us. She recommended individual t for him, and for me to continue coming on my own. I did for a while and am currently taking a break (I'm OK), but he never did!!!

I just feel bad about not being opposed to his drinking, and actually hoping for it (it keeps him away for us).

I sometimes hope for it because he'll die younger than me if he keeps it up too, now that IS awfull, but so be it, it is nothing but the true.
