just feeling a bit down and feeling sorry for myself. also sore from 6 mile hike on monday. i'm sure i will feel better when i start running errands and get moving. i seem to feel blah most mornings except the two days i go into the office (by choice since i can work from home). sniffing some lavendar oil and sipping hot tea.

as suspected once i got moving i felt better. i had to return a laptop and my first inclination was going through how they would act, how i wouuld act, how bad it would be, etc. i am getting better at stopping that kind of thinking and it worked out fine. paid a little more, got a better machine, and everyone was nice and calm.

having a physical next week and doing a sleep test this week so maybe some of this morning anxiousness is poor sleeping.

How are you feeling tonite Wayne? I'm sorry I wasn't here this morning. I hope you're feeling better ~ it sounded like you were earlier. I sure hope so. My gosh, anyone who can go on a 5 mile hike has my respect!! I just found out I had a silent heart attack -- I'm lucky I can hike around the house!!! LOL Take care and keep me posted how you are! Hugs, Lee

I'm glad you're feeling better, Wayne. I know how the scenarios run in the mind, making everything worse. I'm still trying to learn to cut through them and minimize the suffering.

thank you and no worries. was going to go to a nook class after racquetball this afternoon but the snow and ice came in and i decided to go home, cook dinner, and veg.
my friend at work had a similar thing in november. they went into look and put 3 shunts in. my big health anxieties are heart related due to family history. he is my age and build but i exercise more. it kinda freaked me out a bit.
he is doing fine, we exchange recipes and i lent him a couple of cook books (i am a good cook). after 4 years i think i have the "having a heart attack" panic under control. had panic attacks back then, 2 emergency room visits but i learned a lot about what to do without using a lot of meds. still have my baby xanax but only had 2 pills this month, one because i was really anxious and the other because i thought i might be and just didn't want to work anything else.
of course i watch what i eat and my bp and hdl/ldl but don't obsess over them or my diet.

thanks. it takes time. we didn't learn catastropic thinking overnight so we shouldn't expect to stop it in a week. it really is suffering, isn't it. doesn't change anything. it is almost as if we want to punish ourselves for some unfathomable reason.
of course there are times when running through scenarios is good as long as it is controlled. practicing answering possible questions for an interview is positive. seeing your whole life unravel if you don't get that job is extreme.
each day i get a little better at staying calm. ihave scrrewed up model paint jobs, broken parts and lost parts on the floor and 32 years ago i woulf have gone into a rage. now it's just a "how can i fix this?"

Well said, Wayne!! I keep having to remind myself of this too.....I'm glad you're doing better this evening. I can really relate to what you say here about tending to feel worse in the mornings. I'm the same way. Apparently our levels of cortisol are highest when we get up, and if I tell myself that it helps me not worry about it so much.

Good job on the lavender oil too! It's one of my favorites. Good luck with your physical and the sleep test. Let us know how you get on!
