I have been "called" but never went... each time my T would send a letter of explanation. The last time (a few years ago?) he requested a permanent disallowance or something, so I am never called again... so far, it works. (I'm permanently, totally disabled.. honestly.)

I belive you sky..that would be cool to have the perminate letter but in my state it only allows for people over 70 to be excused for good..at least thats what the forms said...I would not mind doing it IF I could do it NOT in a courtroom

Sleeps, Yeh, I would do it too under different circimstances. Like at this point, I would need a bed.......

I attended some intense courtroom stuff years ago and found our system of justice did much better with the public watching, up close and personal. Until we attend and see the real process, the NOT Perry Mason at-all-ed-ness, we can't comprehend the power wielded and how easily that power can be abused. Fortunately, regular citizens tend to take their jury duty very seriously, and paid attention, and justice (ultimately) was served in all the cases I observed.

Got my eyes opened, whooooeeee, nope, it sure isn't TV in there. Very gamey. Kinda scarey. Not for the faint of heart or poopied of pants.

Glad you dodged the bullet. I've been wondering what happened. LOL
