I've had to knock back work. Psychiatrist said not to take anymore on and even spoke about me going into hospital. But doesn't know if it would be best for me. I am dreading the day when work is flat out again. I only work 6.5 hours a week now and it seems like sooo much. I can hardly handle it. I feel like a big loser. I'm supposed to be an adult, and I can't even handle working 6.5 hours a week. Can't cope anymore! I'm giving up some of my work!

Cut yourself some slack. If you had a serious physical disease you probably wouldn't feel bad about not being able to work as much as you'd like. This is just a different kind of problem, but it's just as serious.

Estee, don't beat yourself up over this. Sometimes we don't always have control over how much we can handle.

I know for me I can't work at all and it really eats me up.

Can't cope anymore! I'm giving up some of my work! be gentle with yourself... 6.5 hours is alot, especially when you consider you have to get ready and get there, and all those decisions... don't whip up on yourself about it... what is, is... if it's too much, then that's what it is... you aren't causing that, right? I mean, if you could, you would, right?

Hang in there, for in time and with healing from your past wounds the LIFE you are dreaming of will return. Do the work and be not afraid to face the fears and hurts that haunt you , for it is in the feeling that you will be able to put the evils to rest (for good).

Dear Estee,

We are here for YOU - many of us know of the obsessions that you speak of.... hang in there and get on some medicine or if already on meds, maybe have the dose upped or changed - I feel so much better since I got on Celexa.

I have a serious physical illness and can't work, and I feel like crap about it, Ben, just so you know. Can't cope anymore! I'm giving up some of my work! I can't stand not being productive, even though I know it's impossible for me to do most things I'm used to doing right now.

I sympathize, Estee.

Can't cope anymore! I'm giving up some of my work! I've been disabled with serious problems from an accident 19 years ago...and I still beat myself up over not being able to work a lick! (sorry Ben for such a public lesson.)

But do cut yourself some slack... often the slower path (of taking a break, resting) is the faster in the long run Can't cope anymore! I'm giving up some of my work!

Estee,
Don't beat yourself up about not being able to work.

Be proud of what you can do.

Some people don't realise how much of a struggle life can be for us.
I hope the new meds help.

Estee ((((((( HUGS ))))))) - hang in there....

Please do not be so hard on your self, for at times, NO WORK can be a blessing in disguise - I do not work for I am unable to face the world and the people in it and I have been able to come to terms with this by telling myself.... I do not work for it would literally kill me, my inner thoughts / feeling would haunt me to death, therefore, I am doing my family a big favor by keeping myself safe from harm - until I can cope.

Thanks Rhapsody. I think it's the dread that is the worst. It's so crippling. I did not work at all last week and I am about to try working today for an hour. I ended up at the hospital last week and have had the worst time. However, now I am now getting more help and support, so perhaps I will be able to get over this OCD a bit so that I can function. What you said really helped me. I feel like work is good for me sometimes but other times I feel like it's killing me.
((((((((Hugs Rhapsody)))))) You really helped me with what you said there. I have been to hell and back this week and have been not allowed anywhere on my own. Bla bla bla, etc. I have been in another world.
