My life is stressful on its own, but I do things and worry about things that make it worse. The towels in the bathroom have to be folded so that no edge is showing and stacked in piles of four. The diaper bag has to have even number of diapers that does not have an uneven no. in it. (Can be 4, 24 not 30 because 3 is uneven.) Everything has to be organized just so. No dirt, smell, fuzz, wrinkles, ect. I spend my day constantly organizng and reorganizing. I throw away good usable stuff if it don't fit or organize to suit me. I don't spend hours washing my hands or worrying about germs on me. So I don't know if this is OCD. I plan everything from monthly menus, to what to wear. I could not sit still if you paid me to. I can't even sit through a half hour show. If I practice my flute it turns into an all day thing. This is why I had to drop my music major in college. I drive my husband batty because I move the furniture around weekly. If this is OCD how do I stop worrying about details of organization so much.

Hi twirls.

It sounds like OCD to me...from what I've experienced when under high anxiety and what I know of it.

That said, only a professional can give the dx., and the great thing, help you treat it. Is this OCD or have I lost it. From what I understand CBT, and other therapies, and/or meds can really help.

I wish you luck, and I would discuss this with a professional.

Please let us know.

KD

I just made a post about the same thing. The towels especially and doing things in particular numbers. I'm just as lost as you, so if you find something out, please do let me know.

I actually just took that. The questions on it are hard to answer, because there is only a yes or a no, there isn't a sometimes option. Most of the questions don't really even pertain to me. Like washing my hands. Sure I wash them. And I use the sanitizer, but its not something I do 100 times before I think they are clean. A wash and a sanatize and I'm good to go. so...its confusing. Is this OCD or have I lost it.

I am diagnosed as bipolar type I with OCD traits. My pdoc is on vacation so I can't discuss how bad this is getting.

I am so glad I am not alone. If I learn anything new or helpful I will let you know. Right now my PDoc is on vacation though.
