My unexpected panic attacks stopped some time ago, but about 3 weeks ago, they came back, and I've had 5 in these 3 weeks and it's awful... I feel really bad and so anxious during them. I wish they would stop now. I'm not afraid of them, as I know they are random and I have accepted this fact, but I really don't like them and want them to go away again.

I am sorry to hear you are suffering right now. Are any of your medications specifically for the panic attacks? I guess the Ativan could be. If not have you considered going on medication to try and help it? Best of luck to you, keep us updated!

Yes, I have Ativan for panic attacks. I haven't been using it, but I probably will for the next one. I do take Effexor for depression and anxiety, not specifically for panic attacks. I'm just really annoyed by them, as it takes me about an hour to feel good to do things again. I did tell a pdoc about these panic attacks, but I'm not avoiding things or am afraid of having another panic attack, as I have accepted that I'm going to have another panic attack, but they still bother me when I get them. Actually, a few hours after I saw the pdoc I had a panic attack that was awful. It's just so frustrating.

I'm sorry to hear about your panic attacks. I have struggled with anxiety, but not as much now. My anxiety is like a rollercoaster. One moment, I'll feel okay. Then, the next moment, I feel anxious. It sucks. But I hope to one day overcome the anxiety that I feel.

One thing that I have done is accepting that my brain and mind are wired differently. Some people are wired differently. Not everyone is equipped to deal with anxiety effectively. That's why some people need therapy and help. Others can have anxiety and they can do something and it just disappears.

I think talking to a counselor, doctor, or healthcare worker will help you the best. They can try to figure out why you keep having panic attacks.

Do your panic attacks come from any worries? Disturbing or intrusive thoughts? Try to figure out what is causing them.

I wish the best for you in life and I hope you find a way to overcome your panic attacks.

Thanks for your response. I actually had another one last night at 2am, which was awful. I ended up taking Ativan for it, and then I went to bed. My mind was racing and was quite dizzy and felt like I was dying. Before my panic attack, I was playing this game, and I was getting anxious about losing it, which I didn't and won in the end, but normally this doesn't cause me to have panic attacks so...

I don't know what has been causing my panic attacks recently. It just kinda seems to be all over the place. I know I am not as god when I don't get enough sleep, but I have had sleep troubles in the past without panic attacks like now. I'll bring it up to my pdoc in 2 weeks when I see her.

My overall anxiety levels are a lot lower on my current medication, but it doesn't seem to be helping my panic attacks or depression, which sucks...

Thanks again.

I’m sorry you are having panic attacks again. I truly would rather deal with depression then anxiety. I hope it clears up soon.
Thanks for this!
