Break, I do understand you. When I was living in another city alone while working, I felt terrible alone and frustrated. But, I couldn’t do anything because my social anxiety didn’t let me have a circle of people around.
I felt so different and alone. They were ones of the worst moment in my life.

I have two friends and they are dealing with their lives also and I’m not very prone to keep a daily contact so it’s my fault.

To be honest, Break. Our situation doesn’t change a lot with this problem of the virus. If I hadn’t to take my doggies out I pretty much would go once a week to the supermarket and that’s all.

Just reading the new numbers of infections in my country and in my city tonight has sent my anxiety way out of control. They've gone up so fast!!
I can't go to the office tomorrow |

I do understand. But you are young and you keep healthy. This is also to take into account.
I can’t believe your factory cannot work online. Do you think it is possible? I’m also getting worrier each day because steps had to be taken before the spread. We knew what happened in China. But, now, it’s talk for talking.

Here, mass media are doing everything possible to keep people aware and encourage them. I have to admit it. I’m always pretty critic with them but they are doing a good role. There will be a time for criticism to the different governments and health ministers. We will know which of them let themselves lead by the fear of loosing his/her f charge.

The people here are shouting for a lockdown, there's a small minority against it and yet the government keeps "reassuring" us there won't be a lockdown yet. It's crazy. We WANT to be safe, we're willing to give up our freedom to protect ourselves and others. Just do it!!
I really don't know what I'll do tomorrow. I just calmed down from the first anxiety attack and then another one came on. |

I read the speech. No new measures. Just telling us this is serious and we all have to stick to the rules and blahblah.
I know I have to make a decision. But staying home I'd have to inform work + call my doctor to renew my note. And the new rules are actually that you can only get a certificate by phone for a cold - not sure if it would be allowed for mental health reasons. And I'd have to think about how much to disclose to work. I can either.just say I'm still sick and sit at home feeling guilty about not working. Or I could be honest about my anxiety and say I could work from home but risk judgement. It might sound easy for "normal" people but you know I'm not normal. |

Yes, I hear it. How smart is this lady saying the obvious! It’s supposed she’s the president.
I unluckily had to say the truth sometimes in my work about my anxiety and it made me feel different and weak, even wicked, lol! Pest. You know. Break, go to work...and as soon as you see the conditions are not right, tell it with H. R. department.

HR? They're there to defend the company, not the employees.
And to get to the office I'd already have to go through condtions that aren't right on public transport. I've just realized the time it is and that I'm still awake and way too worked up to sleep anytime soon. I also haven't set my alarm. Guess I've already made a decision subconsciously. But on the other hand I also really want to go in and get instructed on how to work from home. On Monday my team lead was already messaging me when I hadn't sent in my doctor's certificate yet so now I'm a little annoyed I haven't heard anythinf about whether we're still working at the office..... imagine if I took that damn train to find out I've come in for nothing? |

Have you talked with your coworkers? Maybe as you were sick-leaving these days, the chiefs of the company didn’t communicate with you. But, anyway, they have not an excuse.

No, I'm not in touch with any of my coworkers. And they know today was my last day of sick leave and I should be back tomorrow.

Stay distance from anyone at least 1 mile. Here, the army and cops were doing an information labour to the public these first days but from now on, everybody is considered responsible of what they can and what they can’t do. So, there are gonna be more strict in imposing fines.

The whole thing has me stressed and anxious, I have to say. The country where I live was under state of emergency in October and November due to social unrest. We had curfew, many people were told to work from home. Supermarkets were closed due to looting or only a few people were being let in at a time. Shelves were often empty. We didn't leave the house much for safety reasons. So, that was already a lot to deal with. Protests have still been going on since then. March was particularly bad. Now they have declared a state of catastrophe. Movement restrictions were just announced to limit travel from more affected to least affected regions. |

@BreakForTheLight Thanks. Today is one day I am not coping at all. My husband does not handle these kinds of situations well at all. He gets really anxious. He took off work until next Monday and now they are saying he will need to find a way to telecommute. Anyways, our spare computer died and I work from home and have a lot to get done. He basically threw a fit and went to try to see if he can take the computer in to get fixed. I know we have been under so much stress these last few months, but he needs to find a better way to channel his emotions.

I didn’t know what to tell you and finally, I wrote this: Yesterday, they reported here in the news what was happening in your country and it’s very sad. One of the most developed countries in that area. I prayed so the virus didn’t arrive there, my partner is from a country close to yours and I already knew, this area don’t deserve more difficulties. Hope there people got to stop the expansion or at least, there was a discovered a cure for sick people. Since it seems the vaccine is gonna still take a long time.

Gracias AzulOscuro and also Break for the light.
There is some speculation that our infection numbers are higher than in neighboring countries with larger populations because the health system here is a bit more advanced and has been testing more. Even so, our public health system would not be capable of handling large numbers of patients. It is stressed to the limit in normal times. We've also had a significant influx of immigrants from countries with terrible health systems and many immunocompromised people such as Venezuela and Haiti. Most of those are seen in the public system. The main positive I see is that we seem to have implemented control measures quite early when compared to many countries. I hope that will help. A relatively small population and centralized government are advantages in our case. |

The same hear, our Public Health System is pretty strong and advanced but I think measures were taken a bit late here, taking into account what was happening in our cousin country, Italy. So, we are now in a very bad situation and drastic steps had to be taken.

I’ve been moderately calm but tonight I have high anxiety. I’ve got to go out at 6:00 A.M. to try to find things that are out of stock. I don’t think our country did enough in time to flatten the curve. I’m afraid it will get much worse.

I don't think the US did enough early enough. They are only now implementing measures which should have been taken months ago. In Houston, they let the rodeo (which attracts thousands of people from all over the world) go for two weeks. They closed it early, but I'm sure lots of germs got spread in that time.
I'm having a hard time working from home because I live alone and am an extrovert. I'm afraid this will trigger a bad depressive episode. |
