I have racing thoughts. They are most noticeable at night when I try to sleep, but sometimes during the day if I dont keep myself busy. They are not about any one thing. They are just random, disorganized thoughts that make no sense. Sometimes, it will be a song playing over and over in my head, then sometimes it will be conversations I have had with people, and sometimes it is a mixture of thoughts that have nothing to do with each other. What is this? I have GAD and depression. I think I might have OCD because I check the alarm clock like 5 times every night. I also tend to do things over and over like make lists of tasks I have to complete and then I dont complete them and then I make a new list. It is like complete disorgnization. I also hve unpleasant thoughts sometimes and I am afraid that I am going to go to hell. I really think I need to see a therapist but I dont know where to start. Can anxiety make you feel like you are losing your mind?
Thanks for this!

Yes I have found that anxiety can make you feel like you are losing your mind. It does sound like you are showing some symptoms of ocd but that is not a diagnosis, have you talked to your doctor about what is going on? One way to try to find a therapist is to talk to your doctor and see if they can recommend one to you, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

One of my main problems, and I am Panic/Anxiety Disorder, among other things hehe, is my racing thoughts, and especially when I am very anxious, feeling like I am going to go crazy. So, apparently this isn't off the norm...my therapist says let them come, let yourself know you're gonna be ok, and move on...hard to do at night when I want to sleep, can't stop them sometimes and have to take a chill pill hehe...but yeah, see a T and they can help you, mine's been great!

i hate the racing thoughts too. i found getting up and exercising-like jumping jacks or any type of exercise you can do in the home at night will help. the mind has to focus on the exercise and it relieves the racing thoughts. the racing thoughts without interruption will make you mentally tired. so maybe you can try this to see if it helps you.
