I know it's embarrassing but can you ask if you can stay over at your neighbours or what about a friends house. Maybe you would feel comfortable at a friends house? Or if you have any relatives you can spend the night with!

I know it is embarrassing but please try to reach out to friends and / or family for support. I bet they will surprise you with understanding and comfort if you just reach out xx
If I am totally off base though can you call someone to come over for a girls night? Watch movies eat snacks have fun etc. Perhaps you can even set up the guest quarters for your friend like a little hotel! With fresh flowers a special decanter for water etc. That way you will be able to focus on doing something really nice and fun and hopefully it will take away some of your worries ![]() |

I would personally choose a babysitter. My sister and I calm eachother down via phone during panic attacks coz we don't live close to eachother. But that's only really helpful when you catch it early, so you have to be super aware of the warning signs and worsening of symptoms. Do you have meds for them? What causes them? How often do you get them? What are the chances of having 1 in your husband's absence? I ask bcoz you and hubby both seem certain you'll have 1... Are you aware that worrying about a panic attack is likely to cause 1?

Would going to the sleep test with him be an option? Like in the waiting room or something? There would be doctors around just in case? They technically should understand. This predicament sucks, sorry you're in it.

What usually brings one on? Or are they seemingly random events at this point? Planning what to do in case of one is practical, but what makes you so sure you will have one on this particular night? Sitting up all night in the waiting room while your husband has a sleep test is likely to cause more problems than it will solve. Sleep deprivation, worrying about an episode, and the unfamiliar and stressful surroundings may all combine to bring one on. Then what? Does your pdoc know about these, and can't you get some meds, even if it is a one time dose for this particular night?

Thank-you guys.
Would going to the sleep test with him be an option? Like in the waiting room or something? There would be doctors around just in case? His sleep study is in the hospital so waiting in the ER would essentially be going with him ![]() Does your pdoc know about these, and can't you get some meds, even if it is a one time dose for this particular night? He does that's what the AD was for but I had to be taken off it. He's out of the office until Aug. 1st. ETA: This will be my husband's first time in the hospital without me steps away so with him it may just be he want's me in the hospital. Do you have meds for them? No, just the lamictal, and probably melitonin tonight. What causes them? The feeling if I fall asleep some one will kill me or hearing others fight. Which is not as paranoid as it sounds given up until recently we have lived in area's are known for there particularly high murder: citizen ratio. How often do you get them? When I'm really depressed, or hypomanic and in that about to fall asleep state or when others fight. What are the chances of having 1 in your husband's absence? I don't know because we are in a trailer now and quite honestly this will be my first time home alone at night ever. Yes I'm almost 30 and have never stayed by myself for more then 2-3 hours. Are you aware that worrying about a panic attack is likely to cause 1? No I wasn't What usually brings one on? Depression, paranoia, neighbors, others fighting, night.
