so I just skip the going anywhere bit it only makes sense and then I carry on about how much rent costs and the money people spend on their houses so why not stay there more it's population peer pressure to leave the house and for many a time it was way much safer for me not to go anywhere anyway.

....it's quite surprising just how many more people are in there homes than not?....

anyway this aint helping much I don't reckon.....especially if you want to get out more I can easily endorse the stay home thing cos it's comfy and safe but it can also squeeeeze the living life out of a person not to get fresh air and see the sky and the landscapes beyond the windows...

....it helped me just to make small adventures for myself like walk to the shops the long way...sit in a park not near my house....

but first even just to hang around outside my place eat lunch or have a cuppa on the doorstep even watch the clouds...

inside is wonderful but can and will suffocate a person it's always good to be able to say ..."yep I'm headin' home now".....seeya next time

i tend to do that as well.

if i do go out, it's usually just in to my garden or what ever. but, i've not left my house for months... i don't need to worry about things like therapy, because they come here to do it.

...hey thats really good , just remember theres nuthin' to be ashamed of no way. Sometimes when I'm out and about I look at all the people and it occurs to me that most of them must be the 'confident' ones in society and that there must be so many of us who prefer to stay at home....cos we aint like them?...dunno

for the last three months I have hardly been anywhere, but just the last 3 weeks I was popping out for meals by myself in the evening here and there and beats me where I got the confidence to do that?...'the audacity'...hehe

...but next week I gotta get amongst it again...maybe I should buy some sunglasses, I notice most people wear them so no eye contact or maybe wear a motorcycle helmet?...

..it's a crazy world outside
Don't want to leave my house.

Oh man, Monkey, you do find the best pictures!

What if you buy a construction hat? Then you can wear tinted goggles and no one will think anything of it! Plus goggles are pretty awesome.

I have trouble leaving home, evening leaving the bedroom sometimes. I find solace in my bed, laptop, and TV. When I do fo out I feel good about it and myself. It takes a lot out of me to do it. Sometimes I just go to McDonalds for coffee and take my laptop, or just people watch. I don't want to come home because I know I will go through the same cycle, but have to face things that are not comfortable.

Hope this helped a bit.

If you have a porch, you can grab a chair and sit out there for a little bit. It may look a little odd, but sunlight is really good for you.

I agree some days just outside the front door to get fresh air seems to make a difference.

Could you get a job, volunteer, or take a class? Then you'll be forced to leave your house. I've never had problems leaving my house simply because I've always had to to go to class. Try to take a small class, where attendance will be recorded. I find that I can't really motivate myself to attend large lectures very well.

Thanks for the suggestion I will be returning to school in September, so I will have to be in every class. Until then I think I will try going out at least every other day, even just to get coffee or something, to get myself prepared for classes.

I'm so proud of you Eloquent & Judith & anyone else taking those steps outside the door It's like pulling teeth to get me anywhere I need to go, I just like my little comfy space. But after reading all of this thread again, I'm going to go out into the sunshine today. Like right now, going to get dressed and just do it Just out to my yard and rake some leaves, or maybe just sit there with the sun on my face. I know it's healthy for me so I'm going to just do it.

Blue.. Your post was encouraging I hope iI helped to get out. I didn't get out today, but plan on taking my daughter in law out for a BDay lunch tomorrow. I hope I can pull that off. It's one day, hour and minute at a time for me.. hard to plan when you don't leave the bedroom much.
I love the humor that was injected into this thread. Not much has made me laugh in a long time.
