Moose benzos can be very effective for short term use. You may just need a stronger benzo. Ativan is a very mild one. Clonopin is probably the best because it last longer than xanax but still has the same effects. Xanax acts faster on panic attacks though. I dont recomment them for any long period of time because they are very easy to get addicted to. I am trying to deal with anxiety and panic without benzos currently. I am having very little success but one thing I do find helpful is getting outside and taking deep breaths. Almost like escaping from the anxiety to the outdoors where I can breathe better. Does that make any sense???

I just took a couple-hour nap. My migraine is gone and I feel much better. Now finishing the dinner I couldn't eat when I felt nauseated.

I have to figure out how to take my new meds before tonight. I have to give myself shots and take pills and I dunno which when or how. I was shown in the hospital so I suppose that will help. lol

You really find out which of your friends call you twice while you're in the hospital when they hear you're that sick and which just email you and tell you you need to switch to such-and-such a diet.

Glad you went to the hospital and you were taken seriously.

That's a huge fear of mine, the "mental illness" label is going to be used to dismiss "real" problems. Ya, okay I don't take psych meds anymore and any doctor I see won't be getting a detailed history but, I have scars all over my body from self injury (I grew out of that habit and got over some of the dellusional thinking invovled in that period of my life) but from a psychiatric perspective, I can get the crazy label.

Cocoa, nobody thought I was crazy or making it up. The CT scan proved otherwise.

Oh gosh you have to have shots also... sorry Moosey. They are saving your life though, it sounds like (thumbs up). How long do you have to do them for? how do you do them, like where on your body? I hope it goes ok.

I hope at least the migraine resolves - it sounds like the last thing you need on top of the more serious stuff. So sorry for you, Moose.

The shots- I only have a week's worth. The pills I have to take for at least 6 months maybe longer. They are into your belly fat.

I dunno what to do today. Half of me wants to invite a friend over but the other half wants to sleep. My daughter is home and needs to do some major cleaning today.

Sleep, if you can. You need to recover. You can invite your friend next weekend.

I just woke up. Of course yesterday I only had 3 hours of sleep and needed a nap around 10. Today I slept from 2 to 10:30. Why am I still tired then?

You are still tired because you have been through very trying times. If you can sleep more, do so. Otherwise, inviting a friend over sounds like a good idea, as long as you do not fret too much about what to feed / how to entertain him/her. In other words, if it is de-stressing, do it, if it is more stress, skip.
Thanks for this!

I hope you continue to get better. I was in the ER myself for chest pain the other night. I just have an inflamation of the joint between the breast bone and the rib called costochondritis. I just have to rest for a couple of days to let the inflamation go down.

Take care of yourself and make sure you get lots of rest.

Yes. I'm on the phone with another friend and just wrote an email to another dear friend. I like my one friend to come over but its not like the hospital where you can be in bed while they visit. I might sleep more and invite him over this evening.

So, I haven't stuck to that plan. The friend I mentioned isn't answering the phone. Another friend invited me to an ice cream social! Whee. But first I had to pick up my eldest, and then take him to his sleep-over. Then I was having a fun time with a match on EHarmony. Some matches seem to fizzle out but this guy- so far- seems a lot like me. I like his answers. yes we aren't meeting yet. Yes I'll be careful. Just having fun. At least its a break from thinking about how jerky "him" is.

I will be watching your progress carefully. I sometimes think of going on such sites myself, and would appreciate your tips. Have fun!

Well you just go and do it. When I was on 7 years ago, I matched up and went on a date with one guy and it was a disaster. I figured eharmony was terrible. But the guy I'm talking with now seems to have some promise- so far anyway. We're exchanging emails. My tips so far are that not everybody will work out and you'll have lots of one-date-onlies. And there's no substitute for honest time spent. As in years. It takes time to get to know someone. Even if you have everything in common.
