Hello all its been a while but I need someplace where my over supportive family members cant look or dont look either way. They are driving me crazy and on top of that I cant tell them whats up because they are all so proud that Im "not having problems" and if I tell them they will freak out and be more supportive which I cant handle anymore ever since I went off my rocker back 9 months ago they have been and they are always asking how I am or every time I don't want to be around them they freak out and rush to my side. I cant be real with them anymore and I cant stand to be around them anymore as well I dont know why I just cant.

Well why is it a rough day? Well today we had an event for my brother and a friends birthday went on a really nice boat to the yacht club for lunch it for me was very uncomfortable and I had nothing to talk about so that made it even worse. So I pretty much sat in uncomfortable solitude the whole time as Im bad with small talk well bad with people all together. So basically a min i anxiety attack the whole time trying to be social but it was obvious I didnt fit the group at all. So I sit up in my room hiding bothering you fine folks. I just can stand this so numb emotionless and dry socially awkward and school is pushing me over the top to add to that. No wonder I failed about a year ago. Oh well sorry everyone incoherent rant over.

Any advice would be great.

Maybe you have a bit of social anxiety? There is a forum for that, too.

Im not fond of social gatherings but knew most people going so I thought it could be fun but for me anything over 4-5 people it gets uncomfortable unless I have a drink or two. I guess a little alcohol calms my nerves a bit. I felt like I needed to jump overboard to avoid the awkwardness. I may have social anxiety I dont know. I just know I had to rant and now I have to act noraml around my family cause we need to move things around the house. Im stuck in a lie Im a fraud. I just want to isolate.

The forum I am suggesting is titled "Anxiety, Panic and Phobias". It has a smaller membership than this one, but eventually you will get responses. I do believe it is social anxiety - it is more than a garden variety bipolar anxiety. I have garden variety bp anxiety and I have no problem congrerating with any number of people. I do not enjoy it much, but I can easily pull it off.

Thanks I'll shoot Over there then, I just figured it might be related to the bp. Maybe it's something all together different. I'll talk to my therapist about it this week.

my wife is the same way, asking me daily if everything is ok and just waiting for me to say no so she can overreact about it! ugh, it makes it hard to not be 'normal' in situation without the emergency lights flashing and someone swooping in for the rescue lol.

We are really lucky to have that though. We have support and sometimes it's just what we need. I know for me, i know that I shouldn't take that for granted cuz there are times that I really need someone and i'm too afraid to say anything. in times like this, it is a lifesaver. literally lol.
