I've noticed when I post I don't get many responses. I really am in need of some support.

this site is so large that sometimes new posts get 'buried' among more active ones.

what would you like to talk about?

I haven't seen you do anything wrong. I think it's a case of so many posts and so little time.

Well I see a temporary arnp psychiatrist today, I will get my permanent one on the 19th. I couldn't sleep and I'm afraid they may say hospital or put me on seroquel or zyprexa. I can't gain any more weight. I gained 50lbs on seroquel.

I'm just scared with my lack of trust issues.....just scared. I cannot go back to foothills, it was awful I was highly agitated in there.

I would perhaps go to the other hospital but they seem to not ever have any beds open.

Neither of those drugs worked well for me either. There are lots more to try. It took me several years to find the right mix of meds that worked for me.

Yoda, what have you tried for sleep? I want to be on doxepin but since I was in a severe mixed episode/state they have me now on risperdal. It's so aggravating to say the least.

It just takes time. A lot of people post different threads here, and it's easy to get lost in the masses. I also pick and chose which ones to respond to and I can't be the only person doing that. Would a hug help?

For my bipolar I take selegiline, clozapine, zonisamide, gabapentin and some xanax. I've been on those since 2007 and just have needed some minor changes but for the most part I am good. (but if I run out of my meds I start getting manic/hypomanic after 3 or 4 days).

I just want to say for me, if it's posts about meds questions, I usually don't respond because I don't have much experience with meds. I can only answer about lithium and then to say I had bad experience on abilify and lamictle. So, it has nothing to do with the post or the person posting. I just don't want to clutter a post with "I don't know about that" responses.

I like Clonazepam, (or Klonopin) too. Try taking about 1,000 mg of Nordic Omega 3 fatty acids. They work wonders for reducing acid buildup in tissues and fluids. That may give you some relief.

Try also the "lemon thing" I've recommended so often. That also reduces acidity of tissues and fluids. To some degree, that's a big cause of not being able to be calm and to sleep.

All meds leave an acidic residue. We need to combat that by reducing the acid levels. Omega 3 fatty acids and 2 fresh lemons squeezed into about 6-8 oz. water will help if you drink it all. If it hasn't worked in 4 hours, repeat it. That ought to give you some relief. It does for some of us.

Doing these two things will eventually lead you to recognize that you're building too much acid and need to get the level down. That's when you'll want to continue to take your Omega 3's and do the "lemon thing".

Sorry if we neglected you; it really wasn't intentional. I've just never be hospitalized and can't speak much to that subject, but you can be sure we all care and want to help where we can.

Take care.

I gather you're also concerned that if you are hospitalized at some point, you can't get into the one you like, and you have had bad experiences with the first one. Let's hope you won't have to be hospitalized any time soon. Would there be third option if those two aren't working out?

As far as being ignored, one mission I have here at Psych Central is to try to keep an eye out for unanswered threads. I'm hoping more people will do that, too. Sometimes I am hesitant to answer on threads because I don't think I know as much as some others about the subject, but if the post goes unanswered for over a day, I do try to respond. We get over 1,000 new posts each day.

Thanks for speaking up and saying, "Hey, what about me?" As the other folks said, no response doesn't mean we don't care.

i heard once (on another site i used to be on) the more detail you put in to your posts, the more people are likely to reply- because they have a lot more to go on

but when you think of a site like this.. i don't really think something like that applies because so many of us need responses
Thanks for this!

Clozapine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - a "mild" AP, that,

in a low dose, works VERY well for sleep, and does not produce weight gain, unlike Seroquel/Zyprexa. Not sure if available in the US though - worth looking into.

Well I made it through a very busy day without sleep. I saw the temp arnp psychiatric nurse practitioner. She was GREAT! I wish she would be my ongoing one. I will meet permanent one on the 19th. She gave me amitriptyline for sleep 100mgs, but she said if it doesn't work I can call and let them know.

My sister helped me out so much today. I'm living on barely anything and she bought me shoes, laundry soap, ya know the things you can't buy with food stamps. Yes I'm getting help from the government, and with my bipolar and ptsd it is extremely difficult to keep a job. I do hope to go back to college though one day.

Well I took night meds hope I sleep.

Thx to all who were kind and took the time to respond to me.

It is a great drug for sleep, but I am concerned about the high dose. I take 20-25 mgs. How big are the pills?

No, you're not the only one. There are other members looking through the forums and threads. I have noticed that members, fairly new, are offering support/replies. That's good to see!. There community liaisons who volunteer and try to reply to new members, so you are correct, catsrhelm!

I hope you are sleeping finally! I've noticed I'm erratic with my postings and responses, sometimes I have a lot of support to give but sometimes I'm a bit lost in my head and can't keep up with the posts. Just keep posting and something magic happens, make new friends and find people who can relate there's good reason most of us seem to stay here and it can be like a home base
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
