I am manic....talking incessantly, pacing, restless....you get the point.....well people around my are telling me I am driving THEM crazy.

They should feel it from my side! I can't help it; but hearing that stuff makes me feel ashamed & embarrased. I have empathy for them because I'm sure it's no picnic. But constantly telling me that I am annoying isn't helping.

Any input?? from either side

I have input from the manic side. When I'm depressed no one says anything but the minute I get manic it's "you're so anynoying, go away!". I was shocked by the reactiona nd hurt. I just want you to know ur not alone.

Oh well,it can confuse/annoy those that do not suffer with this.
It is good you recognize that you are having a manic episode, but being that you know the feelings,it is your responsibility to call your pdoc, and he or she may recommend you adjust your meds.
Every Bipolar knows that without pdoc/meds intervention, ones just running the course to disaster, derailing, and then having to deal and whine about how people no longer want to be with you, what was I thinking?
I'm not saying you, personally,I'm using those examples, that become common with untreated Bipolar.
I wish you luck with this, getting a handle on things, and luck with future outcome.
Please take care now,
DE

I know it's no picnic to hear those things from other people or to think that you are driving someone else nuts. But I think you should worry more about getting yourself stable than what others are thinking of you at the moment. Then you'll have solved 2 problems at once. You'll be stable again, and you won't have to hear that you are driving anyone crazy. Please do call your pdoc, and let them know what is going on. You might need your meds adjusted. I hope things level off very soon for you!

Thanks to everyone for the support! I wish I would have found this place sooner!!
I have been working with my pdoc, and she made a med change...but I am in that period of waiting for it to be fully effective.......

I think I would rather ppl tell me....than just avoid me......

what's your preference?
