Me too, SoaS, me too. Then afterwards go "Really? I did that? Whhhhhhyyyy did I let myself do that?!"

When you look at a hobby/activity you enjoyed immensely a week ago and then go "I CAN'T STAND TO LOOK AT THAT!" and promptly ignore the whole activity because you've got something new that is much more interesting.

I've done this on more then one occasion. Not only have I questioned how stupid it was but I need to do it again just to make sure it wasn't some sort of fluke.

When you have ten or more unwrapped video games lying around but continue to buy more because "eventually" you'll get back to them when they interest you again.

When you have a large craft box full of barely started projects (needlepoint, afghans, sweaters, pillow covers, sewing projects) because you begin a project and then abandon it as soon as you see something new that you want to make.

As... best invention???
One of my tops on that list for me is showers, which, ties to the thread question even...

When you are so depressed that you can't manage a shower for days on end, despite the fact that you think they are one of the great inventions of all time. (So much so, as when "normal", to comment on it every single time how great and refreshing they are!)

and on the other end... (this happened just yesterday as it happens)
When you laugh knowingly to see some very colorful (uh...loud and obnoxious!) piece of clothing on the rack, because you know perfectly well that you'd be all over it if you were manic. Then point it out to your SO, saying, "THIS is what I'm talking about. THIS bad.".

when you try to start multiple chores and then forget about each one until starting another one and then trying to finish and going "............... eff it" and not do any of them.

when you wake up and start crying and don't even know what is causing it.

When you're listening to your boyfriend complain about a co-worker (that happens to be Mexican) reminds you of listening to your dad complain about a co-worker (that also happens to be Mexican), which reminds you that you two were at chipotle when he was complaining, which makes you want chipotle. All of this happens in the matter of a few seconds.

So when you tell your boyfriend out of the blue that you want chipotle while he's still complaining, he ends up very confused.

You know you could solve all your personal problems as well as humanity's problems if only you had a HUGE enough piece of paper.

You buy a baby chick on impulse and spend the next week designing and building the perfect chicken coop.

Or, you go from having ALL the problems in the world to suddenly thinking you have none and so use all your newfound energy to try to solve all of humanity's problems in one night.

But then you get distracted and start making another corset instead.

You have great ideas about a new business you are going to start. You plan it all out including buying the new books to study this new venture. Then have no motivation left to actually carry your plans out or you have changed your ideas.

Or even worse - you go ahead with the business, spend a lot of money buying a franchise or stuff for your business, and it goes great for awhile and then you lose interest and lose all your money and everyone thinks you're a loser for even trying, especially your husband.

And then you do it again, and again, and....

When somedays you know you are the best employee the company ever had and you are working circles around everyone else....You write big manifestos about everything wrong with your workplace and how you can change it...

But the next day you are depressed and afraid to get out of the car and walk into work.So you take medical leave and don't shower for a week.

Yep totally me! I still have all the stock from my last business plan, everytime I feel like doing it again I look back to how much time I wasted on the last failure of a plan.

When you wake up on the morning of your pdoc appointment so very anxious that they are not going to believe you and think you are making everything up, even though they have never suggested that before.

OMG, you just channeled me on this one. For almost a year after my diagnosis, I honestly believed my pdoc was humoring me by calling my issues "bipolar" because he thought that was the explanation I wanted. HAHAHAHA!!!!

It sounds ridiculous now, but I didn't see that he was taking it seriously. I just thought he was medicating me to help me feel like we were "curing" my "illness". I didn't fully comprehend that I really WAS sick until this spring, when my mood swings became super intense and so did the therapy and the meds. My dx changed twice, and the second time I finally "got it". SMH

When you have such a vivid dream about eating cookies (Ok, this was only a PART of the dream) that you wake up feeling sick from having eaten sugar. When you haven't ate anything sugary for days and days.
