i ran out of meds! I am totally not sleeping but so happy. I can't do IP here. I'm not that bad. I don't want meds. He's going to say meds or IP. Why can't it be my choice? I don't need sleep, or meds or IP. I don't want to have a huge fight in front of his family. Why did I even get involved with him? How do I convince him I'm an adult and don't need ultermatives?

You've told us to tell you when you don't sound well. You don't sound well. Get some meds. Get with your doctors before this gets out of hand.
Thanks for this!

Hello Miguel'smom, sleep is essential for the brain and body to recover from daily living. The brain needs the sleep to process and function correctly. Without sleep, you are likely to end up down the route to psychosis. Please take care.

You can't get meds out of state without an ER visit. That isn't going to happen they'd keep me.

Lack of sleep was the final straw that sent me into pure mania a couple of years ago. Your posts sounds like you are spiraling into mania. Try to get some help, I know it's difficult to ask for help in the state and mood you are in now. You probably feel indestructible right now, but trust us, you are in danger and need help.

They won't necessarily keep you if you go to ER now, if that's the only way you can get meds. But if you leave it and things get worse, you could end up in hospital for longer. You can't stay well if you are not sleeping. If you do something now maybe you can prevent it from getting worse.

My mother in law asked me to take my PRN. She promises it won't make me tired if I'm not already. So she lied. I took it anyway so she'll keep my husband off my back for a little.

Go to ER and say that you need sleeping assistance but not an inpatient stay. In the meantime, try benadryl. It may work for a few nights.

Your pharmacy or doctor can transfer or call in your prescription to a pharmacy near you. No excuses for not taking meds. You have options to keep yourself well. Use them.

I second this opinion!

I've been in the same boat of running out of meds and taking a massive flip like this. I honestly know and have experienced how tempting it can be to reconsider the whole med thing suddenly. We all need sleep eventually and the lack of it can really mess with our heads. Try to get an emergency refill. My pharmacy can typically give me a few days worth to get me by.

If I don't have my Seroquel no amount of benadryl or even the heavy stuff like Trazodone, Vistaril, Restoril (etc)... none of it can touch my sleeplessness. I usually have to resort to dose and a half of Nyquil. What I'm saying I guess, is just do what you can to get by and try to get some sleep.

If you stop your meds you won't sleep & then youl start getting sleep deprivation.. Okay I bet you feel amazing right now,but trust me,it won't last & youl either end up on hospital or having a hypermanic episode. You know what you need to do, no one can tell you either.. If you want to get well "stable I mean" take your meds, if you don't anything can happen & it won't be for the best either..
Hope that helps :-)

It sounds like you're pretty deep into a manic episode. My last manic episode was about a year ago and I said the exact same things to my loved ones. Luckily, my parents are extremely educated on bipolar mania symptoms and got me back on my meds without a stay in the hospital. Unless you're a danger to yourself or others or deemed incapable of making your own decisions I don't think they can keep you. But if you're truly that worried I would check the laws for your state on involuntary committal and then make your decision. I know what it's like to be in your position and I think reaching out for help is in your best interest at this point no matter how scary it may seem. Good luck and sleep is necessary for some resemblance of sanity

The seroquel knocked me out for three hours. I woke up to my favoriet meal. So here's my thoughts in no particulate order:

My pharmacy and clinic are closed on Sundays . Seroquel makes me understand English, and conversations instead of throwing a hissyfit saying no. I'm having, paranoia, auto hallsination, and a bit of grandeur as there's no way his mom could say in Spanish " My mother in law asked me to take my PRN.q She promises it won't make me tired if I'm not already. So she lied. I took it anyway so she'll keep my husband off my back for a little." And me know what she's saying as I don't speak Spanish.

WSeirra: thank- you, I always take your opinion in high esteem. Also thank you for being a reality check for me.

Pawn & pegasus- I don't want to teeter with psychosis anymore than I have too. I'm so having trouble feeling that sleep is neccisarry. Yes I feel wonderful and sleep will take it away.

I'm to perrafied of hospitals to rely on the ER. I don't trust myself to be coherent enough to say/be believed that IP isn't an option.

I know this isn't that bad for me and I'm just start to ramp up. My husband says I'm still just starting but I'm trying to learn to catch things faster.

So what about meds? Well tonight /tomorrow take Miguel's lamictal and my old viibryd. If I wake before 4 am I'll take the seraquel or if my heads to loud. We will decide if we want to cut here short or not. Monday talk to my pdoc just the viibryd, lamictal and seroquel is okay.

My fiances on serequel "quatiapine" but they make her think to much.. Even though she needs them I hate seeing her the way they make her.. She's on other meds aswel, I'm a drug & alcohol councillor so I know everything about medication & the effect they have.. She hates the side effects and has to take pro cycladine to stop them.. I know I shouldn't but I have access to prescribe medication to clients, "well I refer them to a gp or psychiatrist to prescribe them" iv been getting nitraZepam for her , she can't get prescribed them but nothing else works for her. They make her sleep & also relax her and make her less neurotic.. I may be wrong doing it but I can't help it. Citoraplam she is also on and they work for her, and deprikote.. But with all those tabs she is like a zombie half the time..if the seroquel work for you continue to take them, maybee talk to your c.p.n and get the dose right for you.
Hope that helps :-)

I doubt if all the pharmacies in the city are closed unless a small town. Then I would go to the nearest ciity. Do what I did. I went to the psych ward of a hospital and had myself admitted, had my scripts in an hour, and then they released me to go and fill the scripts. There is always a way IMHO.

By the way, I did not have anything to show them. Even no prescription bottles. No doctor in the state, even in my home state. They took my word for it. There were no scheduled substances.

The problem is where my scripts are is closed. (Small private hospital pharmacy). My team has weekends off. The weekend option is to go into the crisis center. I went to the psych ward of a hospital and had myself admitted, had my scripts in an hour, and then they released me to go and fill the scripts. I wouldn't/couldn't do that even if I wanted too.

Have you got a c.p.n that can help you? That is what they are assigned to you for, so you don't have to struggle and to aid you in any way they can.
